Question Recall on W211 "Camshaft Adjuster"

Just dropped off the mistress at MB of White Plains for COMMAND replacement and decided to ask the advisor to run my VIN in the VMI for any recalls or service campaigns..... curiosity of course. I was told that there is recall and replacement on the "camshaft adjuster"... I have absolutely no idea WTH that is. Anyone care to inform me on this part.

BTW; its a 2008 E350 4Matic Sport

Do yourself a HUGE favor and say YES, then say YES again to make sure they heard you!---what is it---tells the ECU the position of the cam and depending on torque requirements adjusts the cam accordingly--It's kinda like when you are at a stop light in coney island and someone sticks a gun in the window----thats when you need torque

Thanks konigstiger.... That post was the reason I called and ask.

To Kushp14: I put the command into engineering mode and changed the model to w211 AMG so whenever I start the car the AMG logo pops up... Silly me! It work when the same night I did this mod... The next morning I turned the car on and the screen was blank... None of the buttons work either! Smh I read a post regarding this and it happen to this other individual as well.... There you have it, a blown command....

Negative. I'm at about 89000 miles but I do have a very reliable connection in the parts department.... $805 for a brand new command if I give them my damaged one. $200 in labor. Knowing the labor rates of MB; I can't complain
