Dropped door panel and broke ribbon cable (PIC INCULDED)

Help!! While working on re-attaching my rear door panel, I dropped it as I was attaching it to the door, and broke off the ribbon cable right where it connects to the plug. Its too close to the connector plug where I cannot even attach it if I could even fix it. I know its an impossible part to find. Any suggestions?

It attaches to that module you see there and then to the door to various parts on the door. When I drive now it alerts the dashboard lights and turns it red and warns me that the door is opened; it beeps every single time I step on the brakes.

You will need to buy a new wiring harness from dealer or maybe off ebay.

Those ribbon cables are repaiable with the correct tools. If you have time call some electronic parts/repair shops and ask if they repair ribbon cables

If not I believe, repeat I believe the cable part number is 203 540 37 05---cost about 25 bucks----DOUBLE CHECH WITH A DEALER!!

From the photo it doesn't appear the wires broke. IF the wires aren't broken all you need to add is a cable clamp to reduce the stress on the wires/plug. IF the wires are broken you can as previous post said, repair/replace connector.

This place is a joke.
MB supplies a repair kit to the dealers to fix the flat wire cable. Check with your local dealership.

I hope the shop paid for the replacement cable and the labor at the dealer.

LOL---Seven years later, but I did get that part replaced and cost me about $35, I did the labor, back in in 2013!! PS---you can reattach the ribbon cable, glue or tape it to hold it together and solder the wires too!!
