Question Did I get a good deal?

I just picked up a 03 E500 sport, obsidian on blk, 13k miles, panoramic sunroof and solar panels for $49,500. I looked at a new one comparably equipped plus CD changer for about $63k at the dealer so I assumed it was a good deal. Please let me know.

Also since I have the Sport pkg, does that mean I have bi-xenons, how do I tell if they are bi-xenons?

Anyone know how much the CD changer is from the dealer or anywhere else I can get one for a good deal? It plug and play right?

CD changer

SW Stereo sells CD changers made by Becker for Mercedes and Porsche. I bought one from them for my Porsche and installed it using Porsche brackets. I assume you can do the same on a Mercedes. www.swstereo.com

I always start with the invoice price. Invoice on the car, as you described, is 56916 with an MSRP of 61070. This includes E3- sport, HK, pano, and solar panels. Does the car have other options you didn't list? Sounds like you got a good deal. I still think they could have done a bit better especially with dealers offering under invoice on available '03s.

Yes, you have bi-xenons... it's hard to explain, but if you put the car next to a non-bi-xenon car you'd see the difference immediately.

As for the CD changer, I'd do it through Benz, since the factory CD changer is very slick -- under the radio, in what is in your car a storage compartment. I don't know if you can go the aftermarket route, because of the placement of factory changer, but I'm sure it may be possible. Through Benz, you should be able to negotiate the price of the changer to $400, and have them cut you a deal on the install since you bought it from them.

Good luck and enjoy!

I forgot about the dash-mounted CD changer. I was thinking more in terms of trunk mounted, which SW Stereo could probably help you with. If you can get the dash CD for $400, that sounds like the way to go, as the Becker trunk-mounted unit isn't likely to be any lower.

Thanks

I didnt buy it directly from the dealer, more from a 3rd party dealer that does large volume MBZ...

I just closed the deal on it today for $48,900, but they told me that MBZ would want almost 900 for the changer plus install, I thought it should be less since its plug and play, they take out the storage compartment and the CD changer fits right in?? Im in the bay area, and the dealers are discounting 03 E320s but not E500s.. i couldnt find one dealer that had the same options to compare.

Yes it has solar panels with the panoramic roof. Im not even sure how to work that yet. How do I program my garage door opener into the built in one? The process for previous MBZs didnt seem to work.

Im not sure if I want to lower it, if I do, Ill go with 19s, if not 18s should be fine.. this is what I have on order so far.

Brabus pedals, illuminated door sills, and door pins
Lorinser lip deck lid wing
Brabus front hood badge and trunk badge
Stage 3 HID projector bulb upgrades
Chrome headlight rings
AMG exhaust tips

Im putting in tint next week and the system, including Phoenix Gold 3ways, Zapco amps totalling 1400 watts, and 2 JL 10W6s.
