Help! REAR Dome light removal and Fuse location
Hello everyone, I just bought a 2003 E-500 with 109k its been garage kept from the looks of it. Runs great so far, except the little miss it has while driving. But my problem is that the rear dome lights aren't working at all. The front works fine but not the rear. So is there a fuse for it or maybe someone removed the dome light before and didn't plug the wires back? So for me to trace this down could someone tell me the exact fuse to look for because there is no diagram paper on the driver side like its been said here. An can someone tell me how to remove the rear dome light to check the wiring.

Check my earlier posts. I started a thread that has a complete fuse chart, and I posted in another thread regarding the rear dome light and included a photo of its mounting tabs.

Ok so I removed the dome light to be so disappointed that it wasnt connected, well it was connected but the ribbon cable was broken off, I guess someone before me pulled to hard or something cause its broken right at the connector. So does anyone have any idea how to fix this or how long the ribbon is cause right now its looking like I have to remove the entire headliner to trace it down.

Solved easy
Yes solved.
Buy A 211 440 19 06 is the replacement cable for the ribbon cable much better yet again MB learned lesson
I left my old ribbon cable no need waste time trying to remove it really is up to you but what I did was pop left side roof side and tugh the new cable in used a piece of metal wire from dome light entry and then taped the new cable end to it and dragged it through voila but tape it 2 to 3 places so it sure it won't slip of.
The new cable is over 1 meter long and as you can see 3 wires but prober wires now

Like I posted previously
No that is the thin ribbon cable that brakes and is not used anymore u will see if u order directly at AMG u get like I posted previously a real cable not the old thin ribbon that brakes see my picture it is
A 211 440 19 06
And yes it holds 4 wires but also as described earlier only 3 of them is actually used wich us clear when looking at the new cable
Here is org package not the cabke inside is the old ribbon i just saved it in case. But like so many other parts MB got clever with time and replaced tbem so dont buy the old cabke ending with 10 but his 06

Confirmed 2114401906 replaces 2115407610 all vendors should automatically quote current 1906 even if 7610 is keyed in unless of course you’re purchasing used.

I found a fix for the rear dome interior light!!
Same thing happened to me, I tried to remove it to put the led's in, then it snapped the wire/cable/harness that connects to it. I thought I had to buy a whole new harness which cost £20 from Mercedes and it will arrive in 5 working days from Germany. BUT WAIT! I thought there must be another way. Only the wire had been pulled off, so surely its an electrical job to simply connect the wire back to the dome light some how and it should be fine. Literally needed soldering, 10 min job from my local auto electrician, charged me £30 for the job. Easy peasy! I couldn't sleep last night regretting what I had done. Now I know it's a simple fix. Nothing needs replacing!! I hope this helps all of you guys who may suffer from rear interior light not working or cable pulled off.
