W211 GSM phone

Has anyone put a fully integrated GSM phone in a USA W211 Mercedes? I know this has been done and nicely documented on W203s, CLKs and maybe M class but what about the newer E class? If so, is there a description of the W211 installation anyplace on the internet?

Ask me in about two months. I have the parts, now I am just waiting for the car.

Scorchie--Do you have a list of parts that you anticipate will be needed for the installation that you might post? Will your installation use a 6310i phone?

I'm looking for this information too -- a parts list that is -- scorchie, if you have it handy, can you post the parts list?

Thanks!

Here are the parts I have:

Nokia PSE
Handset for Nokia 6310i (for W211... new connector)
Clip for handset
Two screws (to mount the clip in the center console storage)

And of course, I have a 6310i which I use in my other cars.

Until I get the car, I don't anticipate needing other parts. I might need a bracket to hold the PSE, but it depends on the car (my G500 already had the bracket). An antenna switch might be required, but again... I don't know for sure. I'm trying to get the W211 product introduction (for service techs) which will outline things like which antennas are used, the location of all parts, etc. This might answer my questions ahead of time!

What would be a fair price for the entire kit including phone? I found a guy in the Bay Area who is offering the entire kit with an unlocked 6310i with installation, and just want to figure out what the parts are actually worth. Also, what is the impact of not installing the compensator?

BTW- What is a PSE? I am installing it in a 2003 G500.

Thanks a lot.

Is 211 820 13 85 the correct number for the Nokia PSE? Also, do you have the MB numbers for the other important parts?

PSE Unit

I too am looking for the PSE unit and how to get it. I also wonder if there is a newer nokia phone that would work "fully" with our comand units. Is the 6310i the newest phone that will work for us.

Thanks
