New owner 2005 E500. Sensonic brakes questions
I just bought a 2005 E500 W211 in Hong Kong, China.
I am very happy about it.
I read that the SBC ? Sensonic brake control
are prone to fail.
The dealer told me that the 2005 E500 was a facelift W211.
It probably isn't, being 2005, as suspected by a car mechanic.
It still has the sensonic brake.
The sensonic brake has a date of 2004 on it.
Questions
1 Do some sensonic brake system last for a very long time?
2 Are there many people who still have functional sensonic brake system?
I guess I am one of them. Do you expect to need to replace it soon?
3. Does anyone replace the whole sensonic brake system (not the brake pad)
if it ain't broke?
4. Is the replacement another sensonic brake system? (Sorry about my stupidity)
Thank you very much for your help.

Out Of Control!!
If I lived in almost freedom, I would take my VIN to the local MB dealer and make sure that all the SBC service campaigns were completed or not applicable. This way you have a base point to start from.
All of your specific SBC questions are mostly shoulda would type----like why is the shy blue or why arnt all noodles rectangular rather than round.
Drive and enjoy your car and trips to the New Territories!!

A. Your dealer is a liar!
B. My SBC System is over 10 years old and working perfectly. Replace brake fluid every two years
C. Enjoy your E Class. The air suspension is more likely to fail that the SBC.

03 E500 and Corvette
My 2003 SBC failed at 60,000 miles and the car could not move due to no brakes. The car was put on a flat bed and taken to the dealer who replaced the entire SBC system. I drove it another 60,000 miles and sold the car. Change the fluid every 2 yrs AND use ONLY approved fluid. There are other types of fluid that look similar but they are not for the SBC brakes. IF you have to buy from the dealer but power flush from the top down to the wheel cylinders. I used a pressure bleeder and this did a pretty good job on my 03.
You will have air suspension failures and I recommend arnott for parts.
