2006 E350 Rear Fog Lamps
Hi,
New to the forum. I tried looking up if this question had already been asked but didn't really come across anything, so if it has already been asked, please bear with me.
I am having issues with my rear fog lamps. After you turn on your lights, you know how if you pull the knob out one time the fog lights come on and if you pull it out one more time your rear fog lamps come on (your tail lights become brighter), only my left one is getting brighter, nothing is happening to the right one. I took it to a few shops and had it checked out, they checked the wiring, the circuit board, the power, and everything and they said they have no idea why its doing that. Everything is working fine, just the right tail light doesn't get brighter when I turn the rear fog lamps on. They said it could possibly be the fuse but since the car has 3 fuse boxes, he said he has no idea which one it would be as it doesn't really state it in the manual. Is this a common problem on these cars ? has anyone else encountered this issue yet ? any help would be extremely appreciated. Its a small issue, but now that I have spent so much time on it, its really bothering me now and i really want it fixed lol.
Thank you !

I'm more astounded that the shops you took the car to weren't aware of this. It's so that the fog lighting does not get mistaken as braking by other drivers.

I'm surprised how many people out there don't read manuals...

Its not what you did, its how you wrote it! While its a good thing that you gave him a link of the manual, he wasnt asking for it. His concern was very simple, you dont have to be a smart ***.

I can get a "civilian" not understanding that european cars, as a rule only light the left rear light for a fog, but multiple "shop"s??? That is crazy. unless your definition of a shop includes jiffy lube, or the Walmart service center this is an astounding story.
