Brake Pads & Rotors-what to pay?

Having all brake pads & rotors replaced (pads are oem) , along with 3 sensors.

$700 for the job...Seems like a good price, what do you all think?

you could do better. if you buy your own parts you can get a indy shop change all for about $150.

Its a totally different story here down under. I was quoted by 3 indi shops for an average of AU$1200 for the whole lot. So im thinking of just buying the parts and doing it myself. Labor alone would cost me AU$250 so might as try to do it myself. Id say US$700 is a pretty good price for OEM parts.

The shops love to rape for brakes, because, ehem, they're brakes. Either do it yourself or source the parts and have it done. Not all parts are equal. There's a lot of junk out there. Take the opportunity to end the 'black dust' nonsense on the wheels too. For rotors I prefer coated rotors that don't rust eg. zimmerman or genuine (~300 USD) and for pads akebono (~140 USD). Akebono ship with sensors. For your 2006 you'll want unplug the sensotronic system before you do any work. Also you'll want to have the brake fluid flush by the dealer or indy with star after the bits are done.

DIY for $300

Why rotors? Mine went 125000 miles before they wore below the min wear thickness.
