Best Quality After Market Parts

First thread:

I just picked up my first W211 and I'm pretty juiced about it . Problem is its wrecked in the front (rad reinforcement, hood, headlights, grill, front bumper cover, and a fender from what I see now) but mostly cosmetic, no frame or engine components damaged, and the car still drives and runs great. I work at an auto dismantling shop and have been having a hard time finding insurance quality, affordable used OEM parts even with my connections. I have asked another member here who i seen had a similar issue, and used the search function but can't find a thread with direction towards the best place for aftermarket parts. Any suggestions. Figured I would go with the Gary Suvneer E63 front bumper cover but I'm still a little unsure on everything else. Anyone with aftermarket parts on their W211s? Referrals? The more info the better. Thanks

EDIT: I find things like this on Ebay that interest me like the blacked out grill and headlights but I don't know if I'm going to get the type of quality compared to OEM.

Don't go with the eBay grill or headlights, especially the headlights they will majorly disappoint you and cause a lot of problems from what I have read. The headlights will likely leak, I recognize the ones above as having several reports on that, and the grill will probably chip and look terrible within a year since it's likely a Chinese part. If I were you I would look at getting the Suvneer E63 bumper as you said, a blacked out grille from some aftermarket supplier (check the forums I'm not sure on this), and then OEM headlights from parts.com or something of the sort. You could also get an OEM grille from parts.com then have it stripped and painted black at a shop. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for your input. What do you think about aftermarket hood and fenders? Would save me at least $400.

Any sheet metal aftermarket is OKAY. They are usually spot on and a lot cheaper. The only issue is that they would be STEEL instead of aluminum. Headlights aftermarket are not worth the time especially if you have HID. If you have HID you can NOT put your OEM ballast and bulb and you will have to spend more money on a crappy HID system.

That is a good point. Someone said the same thing pertaining to body parts. Majority of aftermarket places use the same mold of the OEM hood, switch the material, and drop the OEM name to cut cost. Found a very affordable hood. I'm going to take my chance unless someone has some info about this company (TIC Tuning) or manufacturer (Bision). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370719290964&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

I have seen better prices on those hoods. My brother gets aftermarket parts from taiwan and they cost him $100 for the hood so the "75%" discount is bs.

W205, X253, C190, W213,
Don't get the eBay or aftermarket headlights. Stick with OEM Hella. Go here for your headlights:

oelighting

That's the OEM Hella lights just like you buy at the dealer, but at a substantial discount.

If your car is pre-'07 you'll need to do a search here to put together a wiring harness to match up to the car's harness.

Edit: just noticed it's an '05. Do a search for the wiring harness so you can put the updated headlights on your car.

i found a nice set of used OEM headlights so I think Im going to go with those for $300. Is Hella a middle man for OEM headlights? Also I found some on Parts.com for $242 and it says those are brand new OEM also.
