Does everyone bend over for the colonoscopy from MB dealer when indicate rear airbags bad?? Does the rubber have a hole in it? Is a fitting cracked? Is it a seal in and out leaking? Tubing rubbing or could it be the expensive handjob. Aware this subject beat to death and have seen posts that don't include any part numbers for what was replaced. Must be the old adage - costs big bucks to be a DUDE,

OP i do not have airmatic so i cannot really comment on the topic, however i do have a friend that just removed his complete airmatic system and has it for sale at a fairly good price.

You can replace the ENTIRE airmatic strut system yourself.
I have replaced the system with Arnott struts and they are fantastic!
Aside from the fact that they have lifetime warantee.
Suck it up and do the research on the parts.
I paid about 1/2 of what the Dealers would charge (1400 for the front and rears)
And I have the satisfaction of knowing the job was done right and there's no (hidden) problems that "only the MB dealer can fix".
The dealer wants your money..period.
You have an expensive car..you need to realize that keeping it up will be expensive too. It ain't no camaro

You got to pay to play. I buy Mercedes that are 4 or 5 years old. The original owner suffered 25k to 40k depreciation, so I'm driving a 60 to 70+k car for 35 or 40k. I feel I'm way ahead even if I spend 20k to keep it running like new.
