18x9.5 ET35 07 E320 Rears?

Hello all,

Looking into getting a dedicated set of summer wheels and tires for the e320 bluetec.
Swapping out tires on the same rim twice a year is getting old.

With stock suspension, not airmatic, and not lowered, is it possible to fit:
18x9.5 ET35 in the rears? preferably without stretching, and I was thinking a 265 or 275 tire

Thanks!

265/35r18s are currently on the rear of my e320 mounted on rims of the size and offset you mention.

Welcome to the forum. Definitely possible to fit 18x9.5s out back on the W211... just make sure your offset is good, I have 18x9s all around running 255s square since I have 4-Matic and with a 35 or 38mm offset (can't remember but it's somewhere in that range) I get a little "poke" but no rubbing or any problems. I could lower it and not rub if I were to roll my fenders. As for a tire choice I wouldn't go any narrower than a 265 on 9.5s but I guess it does depend on the tire manufacturer as well.

I have an 06 E320 CDI and I run:
Front wheels 18X8 offset = 30 with 245/40R18 PSS
Rear wheels 18X9 offset = 39 with 265/35R18 PSS.

My question is I am in the process of purchasing a set of Brabus V single piece wheels
18x8.5 I want to go 255 40 18
18x9.5 275 35 18

Only thing I am worried about is the potholes we have where I live, I was thinking of maybe 255 45 18 and 275 40 18, or 265 40 18, I know this will throw off my speedometer readings a little, but will the tires fit without sticking out/ rubbing?

Yes, I could just keep the tire pressures a little higher to prevent the wheels from bending in the event I hit a pothole, but is the higher sidewall going to give me significant problems?

Assuming your offset values are correct those initally mentioned wheels/tires should work.

I would NOT increase the sidewalls.

Make sure you use extra load (XL) tires and you will be fine. I use Pilot Super Sports, and the grip is phenonimal.

Pilot Super Sports are unbeatable. They're nothing short of witchcraft, lol.

thank you for all the replies!
wheels turned out to be 18x9.5 on all 4 corners, and nobody can fit such a wide tire up front

now the search for e55 and or cls55 wheels

You don't want a super wide tire out front, trust me the steering feel is terrible and it's a lot more terrifying when you understeer and break grip on a 285 front tire than something like a 235 or 245, because your limits are higher and there's less room for error when grip does let go. While Michelin Pilot Super Sports are awesome, they fall into the same category of having extremely high limits, but when they are reached it can be a lot more messy.

As for the wheels, search the forums classifieds!
