Prices in North East (MA specifically)

I'm looking into replacing my 2003 E320 with an 04 E320 or E500 with 4matic. I haven't placed an order yet.

In conversations with a number of dealers in MA, I have found that they are all asking for MSRP and will not even discuss reductions. No one has a car in stock and all claim that if I order now I can expect Feb delivery at the earliest.

Can anyone comment on prices they've paid / dicsounts in the NE for recent orders of W211's with 4matic and at which dealer?

I'd really appreciate it

Thanks.

Try MarcusBenz. Several members seem to be satisfied with his prices and customer service. He can get the car shipped at any dealership that's close to you.

I ordered an E500 4Matic from Flagship Motors in Lynnfield, MA at $1,500.00 over dealer invoice.

Carsdirect is MSRP + $200 for the area for both E's

However, carsdirect does not have the 4Matic as an option for either the 500 or the 320, it only has the wagon listed as 4matic

It's $200 over MSRP not Invoice (if it was over invoice, I'd have bought one by now!!!), on the 2 WD, the 4WD is not listed on carsdirect.

It's the Northeast, not CA so it seems to be a supply issue. I've called every MB dealer in MA and none of them have a 04 E class in stock for me to test drive or buy. They claim to be sold on everything being delivered, so I have to place an order if I want one.

One dealer offered me a fully loaded e500 4Matic that he said was a cancellation and on the boat, but with all the options the MSRP was $71k

One told me to come and test drive an 03 E500 because there were no changes and that there was no 7 speed offered on the E, only on S and CL!!!

I agree, however, there's nothing wrong with the car or the service I've had, just a case of having decided a 4wd will be better for me here in the NE.

I agree with you regarding the northeast, its totally different then what we read from posters in CA. The NE dealers either have alot steady clients, they get less cars, or they are essentially a "cartel" on price. There is one fellow here who said he got a good deal from a place in Westchester I believe. Buying the car "mail order" is tempting, but I still fear getting it serviced at the local dealership.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy out of state. These dealers make so much money on servicing that they welcome all vehicles. Just don't expect to get a great loaner car though. Enterprise is always available for $20 a day ( dealer rate). For the money you'd save, you can rent a car for half a year.

I'm considering getting one out of state. It seems that the prices are considerably better. I assume all MB dealers are obligated to service all MB cars regardless of where they were purchased from?

to make a real dent on price, you will have to go a long way from MASS. It may be CA or nothing. In that case, you would have to transport the car across the country. to do it via a reputable closed carrier isn't going to be cheap. these guys are the best:

http://www.horselesscarriage.com/

you could call or email for a quote. best to find a dealer that has done this before.

and sure, the local dealers will service the car, but they may give you an appointment 6 weeks from when you call. this is what I fear from the NY dealers, they barely treat their own customers well, I can't imagine what they do if you don't buy the car there!
