so i did some searching on ball joint replacements and i was wondering if anyone comment first hand from experience
i heard a lot of people recommend moog but i also heard good things about the meyle HD, i noticed Meyle HD only offers lowers but not uppers
foot notes:
Moog vs Meyle HD ball joints
thanks

I have just over 100K miles on my 04 211 Wagon with Airmatic. I replaced the lower ball joints last year. I still had a clunking in the front suspension when I either go over a bump or a pothole so I replaced the Torque Strut. I was also going to replace the upper ball joints, but they were still good. I purchased OE parts from the dealer ( i get a great discount from them). After the torque struts were replaced, the front suspension is solid again.
I would suggest checking the upper ball joints first before you order them. I returned the upper control arms I purchased as the originals were still good.

I replaced all front end suspension components when I needed it done. I suggest getting the MB tool...DO NOT use the universal kit...it will be a PITA. It's worth the cost for the part. I did the HD versions...no issue so far 30K miles later.

I would have done Moog but couldn't find them. I did the Meyle HD and am very happy with them so far. Much better than the factory ones. I think I paid 110 for the pair (lowers) My uppers were/are fine so I left them be.

Just wrapped up on my upper control arms. Car had 76,000 miles on it and did replace the lower ball joints last year. Still got squeaking and creaking. Upper boot was ripped and rusted and very woobly. Car feels and sounds a lot better now

Moog generally good stuff, I won't use their stuff on VW's, but since this is not about that I would not use either brand, I used Lemfoerder brand from Pelican Parts.
