E55 amg W211 - vin code check
guys,
I am about to buy an E55 Amg w211 and came across a good car. the car has been imported into my country from japan. all is intact and functioning properly, however i noticed that the tail has been repainted leaving me with question of how much damage was really caused to the car.
I am having trouble finding the cars history anywhere via VIN code. some sites say it does not exist, some say that the VIN belongs to E600 w211.
Any ideas where i can get an accurate info on the car that was imported from Japan?

how it left the factory is one thing, and what condition it left japan once it was exported is another.
it is a common thing emporting cars into my country from japan. the milage is less than those from usa and the condition is too. plus its cheaper than the european imports. so no idea where i can get the lat few years of missing car history?
oh, and what navigation???

ye i did, its jsut the specs of what came with the car. i need its history and service data.
also, had the car checked at the dealers and following malfunctions popped up:
1. driver side seat heater does not work
2. 2 parking sensors, one front and one rear don't work
3. cd changer does not always pop open
4. mirror heater does not work.
i am told this many electronic problems should not occur on a merc and the reason being is that it could be flooded. without the history i can't know for sure. i paid like 20 USD for its history but it came only up until 2010.
what do you make of these electric problems?
other than that, undercarriage is ok, needs a few details to be fixed and the engine roars likes it is supposed. will check it on Dyno too. whats the minimum rwhp i should be ok with for an 11 year old car

This sounds similar to buying a car post Katrina or Sandy. How many folks got burned on these cars? Especially Sandy cars. New Jersey is one of those states that don't issue rebuilt titles if the owner of the car buys it back from the insurance company post write off. Not sure about Louisiana and if it is as easy to wash a title as New Jersey is.
