Wow you joined in 2007, 11 posts and still a newbi---where you been--I give you a hint on your part--I believe that half piece(could be an upper or lower) is for protecting the crank shaft main connecting point to the block and or the connecting rods from wearing out the respective crank shaft cylinder surfaces!

Now if your next question is it it a DIY--absolutely!!

thanks for ur time and help, Plutoe.

Im still newbie, because Im very young when I joined and now I bought by my own a mercedes. When I joined I read daily the cases and otherwise to practice my english, too.

My e350 2006 4Matic engine flooded by water,so Im buying a lot of internal parts engine.

So,I bought already some parts of engine, like piston, rods, rods bearing, etc and I need the part pics, because I don´t know how to traslate to english and find it.

Greetings,

The part will either be a rod bearing insert or main bearing. It takes two of these for each one because they are matched sets.

I found the part its came upper and lower, but you have to select from 3 colors:blue , red and yellow. Now is the question wich color to choose.

Each part is made to fit a specific journal size. You will need to know journal size to make the right decision.

There is no scale for color that I know of. At test would be to put a pair on the journal. (caution they are made as a matched pair don't mix them) and check fit, then install one and use plastigauge to determine the internal clearance. About .001 to .003 max would be a good clearance. Greater wrong part, smaller wont' fit.

If you don't have the proper measuring tools to build an engine and get proper fits you might have a real problem with building a good engine.

I would recommend you get local help with someone who has built an engine.
