Hi Guys,

Im new you here, so hello.

I just purchased the 2003 e270 cdi avantgarde, and joined the Mercedes ownership club, i hope i dont regret it.

I drove it back some, 150 miles it was fine, it asked for the coolant to be topped up once just when i set off. It took about 4 3 small bottles of water - so it could have been low.

I got stuck in some traffic on the way back and the temp raised above 80 - upto the bar above 80, but below 120, i had my heaters on 1, and i was stuck for about and 1 hour or so in traffic, it didnt rise above that.

The thing i noticed was the coolant was slightly cloudy when i opened it, it did have anti-freeze in it but was cloudy.

Other than that it drove spot on, with power and everything.

I have heard these cars get stuck in gears, so i was looking out for it, at times it seemed like it should change gear, but i cant be sure - anyone give me any pointers of what i should be looking out for, would be much appreciated.

I hope these 2 problems, do not cause to much issue.

I would just monitor the coolant and if it is questionable change it with approved coolant. Just make sure you aren't losing or gaining coolant level.
