How hard to repair optic shortage?

How hard is it to repair audio optic shortage? I suspect my optic wiring has a shortage!

For the radio system or the rest of the car? Either way BOTH can be repaired, mbz has some guidelines on what tools and techniques to use when repairing important wires.

Radio! im not really sure if its optic or unit itself. It powers up but then turns off.

Simple, have someone with SDS check for fault codes.

Ahh.. No.. SDS gives no errors. The car has been served @ MB dealership a couple of days ago.

The scanner will help solve your issue. Could be as simple as a software reboot or it would tell you of any hardware/connection issues.

Very odd that MB logo displays and no fault codes either with system (usually a bad MOST device) or possibly battery level. Are we talking original radio (cassette) or COMAND (large screen) replacement displaying MB logo?
