DGR COILOVERS

Good day! Got rid of the H&R lowering springs coz, as most of you know, i wasnt too happy with how the front sits. In goes the DRG coilovers. Had to change my front tyres from 245/35/20 to 235/30/20 to stretch it a lil and to be able to lower it more. For now im scraping a bit on the front driving down my garage but the beauty of it is i can adjust it.

They look great. I guess I am confused though. You got rid of H&R as they were too low...but the new kit is far lower after install.

Ahh, too high. Stock height is nice on mine (I think the shocks are blown) so H&R might be right for me.

H&R was ok with me but i always wanted a lower drop on the front. So i finally decided to go with coilovers.

Nice man. It's stance looks great. I need to drop the front just a bit, but the rear sags and looks lowered already.

Do your coilovers not have adjustable dampeners? Also how is the ride quality verses your H&R springs?

Quite the transformation, and I do remember you complaining about the H&R ride height on the front so glad you got it figured out, looks stellar.

I know. thanks mate! I really wasnt too happy with the H&R springs and I figured ill just try to put that on my CLK (if it fits, havent really done any research) or sell it.

Dragon, It does have adjustable dampers as well, but it wont solve the rubbing issue on the front when im turning on an angle. we raised the front 1.5cm and made the front springs stiffer. driving great so far. with the ride quality, there wasnt much of a difference from the H&R, i was quite surprised myself. had i known better, i would have gone straight with the coilovers.

Good deal man, the beauty of adjustable coilovers. I noticed the smaller coil diameter of the front springs on your new suspension compared to the H&R coilover kit as seen here.

http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...109_162403.jpg

This could be why your ride is as comfortable as your previous spring/strut combo.

its possible but im not really sure how it works. I may even be uncontiously justifying my purchase of coilovers but in all honesty, i barely noticed any difference.

I've only had coilovers on my tiny Honda, but compared to everyone else I know who got coilovers on mid-sized sedans the ride sucked! Riding in their mid-sized sedans with coilovers was 10x's better and hardly noticeable to me. I hope if I ever go that route the ride will be better than what my Honda produced no matter the brand I end up choosing.

Well I guess I better start saving up because I'll need a set of wheels to go with the drop. So what's next on the bucket list? Mirrors? Headlamps? Tail lamps?

Get the wheels now and drop it later. At least when you have the wheels you know exactly how low you wanna go.

Next on the bucket list? All of the things you mentioned! Haha but my main priority are the big brakes with 6 piston calipers at the front and 4 piston calipers at the rear. But i dont see that happening anytime soon.

Oh for sure, them big brake kits will compliment the wheels! You're right about the wheels first, still looking at various styles and haven't decided on a look just yet.

Im looking at K Sport for the big brakes but its gonna set me back a few grand so not anytime soon.

on your black car mate, you can go either sporty, classy or both! and knowing how meticulous you are with your mods, im sure itll come out great!

Oh I didn't know K Sport offered a kit, but yeah the price sounds right regardless haha. Yeah I'm leaning towards a classy look, but I don't want it too dull... trying to make my e55 bumper work with me and not against me lol.

last time I asked its gonna set me back around 5 grand supplied and fitted 380mm discs. im not sure if its worth it so...

IMO, E55 front bar looks sporty at any angle, so id suggest a clean silver finish for the wheels.

Good lord, you can have the rest of your entire bucket list done and some fancy burgers at that price! Do you happen to have any spring rate specs on those exact coilovers?

you're right about that! so maybe ill take a rest from any mods for now.

sorry mate I dont coz we kept changing the spring rate, height and the dampering til we ended with this which is perfect for me atm.
all i can say is its a bit stiffer than the H&R's but i dont really mind coz I finally got the height I really wanted.
