Unhappy What does this mean?

So I was driving my '03 E230 today, and I noticed these two errors in my console. Weird thing is, I've seen these the day before and the same thing happens. When I park the vehicle and turn it off and go run my errands (20-30 minutes) I come back and try to start the car and it won't start. The voltage reads at 12.4 - 12.5 but won't turn over. After waiting almost an hour after trying to start it, the vehicle did start and the errors didn't show up just the check engine light came on.

I changed the trunk battery yesterday with an replacement from O'Reillys that was the same size and voltage.

Anyone have any ideas on what and why this occurs?

Robert

Did you change your speedometer by any chance? Usually this indicates if your speedometer is different from the original vehicle it was in.

I bought the vehicle used so I'm not sure if it was switched, but to my knowledge it wasn't.

Had the same error message "display malfunction" text, ABS light and ESP light come on after I stopped at a gas station to grab a drink. Tried to turn the key and nothing happened. Tried a few more times and then just waited 2 minutes before finally it worked without any error messages or lights coming on. Drove back to work and parked then immediately after turning the car off tried cranking again and errors once again. Went into work for the remaining day came out three hours later and error messages and symptoms were back. Kept trying taking the key out and putting it back in for a full crank about 5 tries and it worked. Drove home without turning the car off once. Next days after no issues. It's been about a month since. When it happened it was the hottest day of the year at 110 degrees. Not sure if that played a role.

Mine happens when the temp is about 90 degrees, I think these cars just don't like the heat!

I should add that it was the 5-6th 100 plus degree day by the time it hit 110. Maybe too much residual heat from the days before? I hope it's that predictable, wouldn't want to be stranded anywhere remote.

Aux battery has nothing to do with it. It's used to power the SBC pump. MBtechs call it SBC battery.
