Question regarding MB all-season floormats..
For those that use the mats, do you use the metal clamps as well? The metal clamps were not included with my mats and understand they are available. Please let me know.

I have the all season mats and have not attached the pins/clamps. As a result, they slide a bit every now and then. If you bought the black rubber all season mats that cost about $80, the clamps should have been included in the box.

I bought the rubber mats, and they did not come with clamps. Instead they hook to the factory fastners built into the floor. My E430 had the metal clamps, and they were needed. Thie E500 has the tabs at the base of the seat that the rubber mats attach to as did the fabric mats. Have not had a need for anything else.

I have a feeling we are talking about different sets of mats. My E came with a set of carpet like mats with the MB star that are attached to the tabs at the base of the front seats. The black all season rubber mats I bought from the dealer for added protection came with pins and clamps. These may be fatseners for just the all season mats. AMG Fan - Are the rubber mats you are referring to the ones with the hexagons?

The ones with the hexagons were the old style mats. I had those in my E430. The new ones are completely different for the E500. They have the built in fastners like the cloth mats. I would go back to the dealer and requets the new ones. I'll see if I can dig the part numbers from my receipt.

Randy B - Thanks for the part number! I must add the rubber mats I have are a perfect fit for the flooring of the E500 and are cut the same as the carpet mats that came with the car. I don't think they would have been an old design as I believe the floor design of the E430 is different from that of the E500. I will use the part number to make sure I received the right set.

No problem, did not mean you had a wrong set, just a different style. I questioned the new ones when they arrived as I had the style you have in my E430. But when I saw how the new ones fit easily without the metal clips, I did not concern myself with them again. I guess the color option is nice for some people too.

I bought the clear exactmats for my car (www.exactmats.com). They cost $65 (including shipping, tax, etc). They come with a clip for the front 2 mats (but you don't need them). They exactly fit on top of the factory mats, and they are clear, so you still see the MB logo, etc. They look nice..
