Gummmi Mats
See page 2 of the thread "Improved All Season Floor Mats" for a more detailed description of the Sweedish made rubber floor mats discussed above as available from the Kundencenter (European Dellivery Center). They appear to be different (and better) than the ones available from Mercedes in the US.
Anyone posting from Europe know if the Sweedish made mats now have a right front passenger mat that fits perfectly on the 4Matic with its slightly altered floor design?

Called my dealer today. "Gummimats" are available for the 4Matic in Stone and Anthrasit color. The price her in Norway is USD 100 for a set of 5 mats. You have to buy a "normal" set for the W211 + the extra mat for the 4Matic. Not possible to buy just the single mat. So now you know.....

More European Delivery Photos
A poster on another thread requested photos of the gummi mats available from the European Delivery Center made in Sweeden. Attached is a link to photos of same. Also included are some additional photos of our European Delivery Trip as taken by one of the kids. As suggested before, the best way to view these photos is by clicking on "slideshow" once you get to the yahoo photo site.
After the gummi mat photos the first photo is of the dessert buffet provided at Hotel Mueller on New Year's Eve as discussed in the original post. It is followed by four photos from the Mercedes offered hotel (Schlosshotel Buhlerhohe) near Baden-Baden. (We learned later it was once the summer palace of the Kaiser.) Included photos are of the hotel itself, sculptures on the grounds, and its swimming pool/spa.
Those are followed by another photo of the car we picked up parked in front of the Kundencenter (European Delivery Center) in Sindelfingen.
The final photo includes yours truly holding the door with another of the kids in the foreground entering the lobby of the Mercedes offered hotel (Bayerischer Hof) in Munich. (Note the streetcar just outside the entrance and the rotating door that looks like it was borrowed by Jackie Chan for his rotating door stunt in Shanghai Knights. [Actually the hotel used by Chan for the stunt was another European hotel of the same vintage.]) This hotel (Bayerischer Hof) is a favorite of Michael Jackson and was home to the Beattles when they toured in Munich.
Both the Bayerischer Hof in Munich and the Scholosshotel near Baden-Baden are offered either separately or as part of the Black Forest Alps Rally tour by the Mercedes European Delivery Program.

Ready for yet another link or two or three?
Some additional pictures - One of a mischevious Santa referenced in the original post (sorry it is sideways) and two of the kids eyeing their favorite Smart Cars.

And here are two links to the Pacific Blue Interior referenced in the original post.

Performance Package
Just learned that the Black SL55 shown at the European Delivery Center has the new wheels that are part of the "Performance Package." Don't know if these are similar to what will be available on the E as part of the AMG package or not. In any event several posters from Europe have linked to the info available on the subject of the Performance Package. Just go to SL55 forum under thread titled "Black SL55 at European Delivery Center."

Neushwanstein
Mercedesfan-
I dont know this but it looks like one of the photo's you took of Neuschwanstein has become one of the most emailed photos
by the AFP (it's on the yahoo site - most emailed photos).

Anyone who has not been following this thread ahd wants to see the photo I took of the Neuschwanstein Castle in the winter snow just go back to page three of this thread where Oslo posted it.
Also I just learned if you want to email or save a copy of the photo for your own use or as a screensaver all you have to do is give the computer a little time and position the curser on the photo. After a while the email/print, etc. option pops up in a little box on the photo itself.

European Delivery Discount Increased!
For those considering European Delivery the pot has been sweetened. Per the news release provided by Jim256 you now get a 7% discount and it is reportedly on the entire price of the car including options, not just the base price. I figure I could have saved an additional $1700 plus. Anyone know if Mercedes subscribes to the 60 day price guarantee many retailers offer which provides if the product you purchase goes on sale within 60 days of your purchase you get the difference back?
Here is the link to Jim256's post:

To precise the article: The nano clear coat is used in the Sindelfingen plant first, starting January 2004. The first modells are the E, S , CL, SL and SLK. During Q1 Mercedes introduces the nano clear coat in the other production plants (Bremen C, CLK ; Sindelfingen C and Raststatt A). Currently Mercedes uses a ceramic clear coat in the Sindelfingen production plant, but not for all cars. This clear coat can be detected by the letter 'C' in front of the color code. Nano and ceramic clear coat can not be mixed with traditional clear coat. Therefore these clear coat are marked in the color code.

Thanks. Interestingly though on the thread titled "Nano paint in UK" there are reportings of US delivered E Class as early as an October 2003 build date with the nano clearcoat code.
