European Delivery Now -7%

"The European Delivery program includes 2004 C-Class sedans, coupes and wagons; E-Class sedans and wagons; CLK coupes; S-Class sedans and SLK roadsters. Limited-production models, such as the CL coupes, SL roadsters and AMG models, are not part of the program. The all-new 2005 SLK roadsters which are due out in autumn 2004 will also be an exception to the rule."
Many thanks for your insight.
One thing that always bugged me was the CLK.
I am wondering when MBUSA indicates CLK coupe, are they also including the CLK convertible.
After my wife and I saw Mercedesfan's photos on European delivery, she became excited about it and wants me to look into it. I just hope that this program covers the CLK convertible too.
Any insight to that?
Thanks
There were several things that attracted us to the European pick-up. First of all is the obvious, you get a great car to drive while you're over there but you also have the opportunity to (possibly) get a new E320 CDI that might still be hard to get in the States and then you can also get a color combination that would have a special order cost in the States.
On the other hand, if you can get a new E-Class in the States for under Invoice, the 7% might not be that great a deal.
I don't know if you will have to pay the $720 US delivery price if you choose European delivery. Also, it takes 6-8 weeks for cars delivered to the West Coast.
This discount will pay for the round trip air fare for two people from Phoenix with no restrictions other than buying the ticket 14 days before the trip.
Go to MBUSA, select European Delivery and then configure the car you want. They'll tell you what it will cost (unless you can get a better deal from a dealer).

I also asked MBUSA about the E320 CDI and they told me that it would be a 2005 model but had no idea what states it would be approved for nor when it would be available.
This model was originally scheduled to be imported as a 2001 model.
I'm not interested in a Euro delivery of anything other than the CDI. If it's not going to be available in September, I'll wait until next year and hope to see US models with the four valve, rail injected gas engines available.
