Who had their car lowered at the dealer?
I spoke to my service manager at my dealership in regards to lowering the ride height as some have stated they did thru their dealer. My dealer informed me that they need a service code to gain access to those parameters which MB was reluctant to give them.
I told him that I have read that people have had theirs done at dealers throughout the states. He said he would be glad to do it for me even though MB wouldn't give him the information. He said if I could advise him of contacts at different dealers, he would call them directly and take care of it while I wait. If I couldn't get that information, in two weeks he is attending a training seminar and would gather up some information then.
Can anyone provide me with contacts so I don't need to wait the two weeks? I read about the washer and level sensor mod but I'd prefer to have the dealer do it if they can.
For any of you that have done the washer mod, did you need to realign the car after? If not, how many miles have you put on the car since?
Any issues?
Thanks
Fran
Hi,
None of MB dealership service will lower your car for you, because it just void you warranty!!
It isn't B. S.
Even a most stupid person would know any alternation from factury spec will void its warranty.
It isn't B. S. It is that you are just too stupid to know!! It isn't wrong to be stupid, but it is wrong to give wrong information base on your stupid knowledge to others.
You can lowering the car, but when you have airmatic suspension that goes wrong and you better bring back to its default setting otehrwise MB will refuse service your airmatic under warranty. The cost of each airmatic suspension is about $1000 besides labor.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
This is their website ask for the aftermarket department--
http://www.atlantaclassiccars.com/
the tune your engine the also upgrade exhaust systems-- you name it they do and it an authorised mercedes dealership
What you have to realise is that most Benz dealerships are useless-- they cannot even do a high speed balance on the car- ask you to go to other high end tire shops to have this done--
Check this took my car in for a B service those idiots took my wheel of without indexing the point where the wheels should be returned after checking my rotors specs- Put it back not knowing that will throw off the balancing- and they told me go to to a special tire shop and have it corrected with is $35 a tire--
How a MB service center lower your car for you while they know it will void your airmatic warranty??
Plz think before ask...

I think you listen to your service advisor and salesperson too much. Can you spell gullible? How about stupid, can you spell stupid?
Of course the stuck-up MB employees will always say: "Why change an MB part or spec? It's an MB, you don't need to change it. That's why they spent $M's on research so that you don't have to change anything....cause it's an MB"

So... Say I lower my brand new e500 and the engine or tranny decides go south, because I lowered my car their not going to waranty the drive train????

For those who doesn't have airmatic don't have to worry about it, because you don't even have airmatic why bother to worry about its warranty?
How could lowering the car to void to warranty?

Now here’s a little friendly advice for you rusnakmb. If you are going to call someone "stupid", make sure you know what you are talking about, and try not to use 1st grade level grammar. BTW, the word you were looking for is ignorant not stupid.
For the original poster, Dr Chill has had this done. You could PM him for dealer info. Your dealer should already have what he needs though. It is the same process he would us to fix the car if one corner was too high.

Well said Blocktrader neither rusnakmb & Arnee has the right to call anyone stupid -- This is a discussion forum- and I see no reason why they will refer to someone else in those context--- O well
I was really calling anyone stupid until my posting become soemthing as "BS"
I think most of you already know lowering airmatic is easy, but I just need to point out the bad side if lowering them. Each airmatic suspension cost around $1000 each, and it isn't funny when it fails.........
Each airmatic suspension has an elevation sensor on top of it. The ECU which can program the height sensor. Most of the sport model already using European spec height when car reach 70MPH (-15mm drop in height). All it need is to set the height -30mm and -20mm for both front and back setting. You have have about one and half finger gap. That is all it takes.

Hi,
None of MB dealership service will lower your car for you, because it just void you warranty!!
The ride height setting -10mm for 50 to 70 mph and -15mm for 70mph and up. That is the preset. Which you force to stay at -15mm. The gap is still big after -15mm drop....
The effective way is to reset the elevation heights and recalibrate. Which that is the part I mention which once adjust beyond manufature spec, will void your warranty. You can adjust the height way over 15mm. I drop about 30mm in front and 20mm in the back. That give me a perfect 1 finger gap.
The reason I mention void airmatic warranty is because the mechanic that does my car told me that he has completely reset the elevation height which if I drive over 70mph and it will drop another 15mm!! That take lots time than simple tell ECU to drop -15mm.
What you guys mention in this post....... drop 15mm don't mean sh@t That you just leave at -15mm setting. 15mm=1.5cm, that don't mean anything!! For E55, you only need to set at sport II, which it automatically drop 15mm...(Sport 1 drop the back and sport 2 drop the front) That is for all E class with airmatics as well... nothing new!!
Some people using bracket, which in long run will damage the airmatics... enough say.....
That is why I am **** at those who mention my post is BS. You just got to know what you say.....
