Hey, people out there with the new software upgrade - I got mine two weeks ago and noticed this weekend that the CD player, whenever it finishes playing any CD in the magazine, plays the CD in slot one next. This didn't happen with my old software, it payed the next CD in order.

Can someone check to see if this is happenning to them?

Had my car checked by local dealer for the same static problem and they did a SW update with latest version "S/W 49/03". It is now problem free

I had the static problem with both pre and post Nav cars. The dealer recently replaced the fiber optic cable AND updated the software. I haven't driven it much since but I leaving for PA this afternoon (3 hours out and 3 hours back) so I should have a good feel whether or not this fixed the problem. I will let you know.

Since both things were done, we won't know for sure which one fixed it.

Also, I got static in both cold and hot weather, using CD player or not, using phone or not. It was purely at random.

Question. I'll be visiting my dealer soon for some minor service issues. Does this software upgrade/update also apply to the '03 e320 without COMAND? Also, what is the correct, or newest upgrade - 43/03 or 49/03? I've learned that if not fully prepared it's difficult to get passed the "look as if you have 3 heads" response. Thanks.

On my service ticket it read
" Update DTC's 9028-UCP,9126-IC, D136-AGW. Flashed AGW with lastest S/W 49/03." So I assumed it is the lastest version. I can't figure out what the other codes they are referring to. Hope this helps

2004 E500 4MATIC
This forum is great. Picked up 04 E500 4MATIC just Friday, and was cruising north of Manhattan when when this static thing came on out of the blue (this with only 250 miles on the car). Pulled into a gas station as I had to fill up--turned off the car, and restarted it after fueling, and had no issues. I'll see if it happens again and if so, I'll call the dealer and tell them to install the update listed here. Thanks again.

its amazing that even at a factory store like MB of Manhattan - they deliver a car to a customer without putting all the software updates in it. Hit them hard on the customer feedback form - they know the updates are available, yet they do not apply them, forcing the customer to come back.

BTW... I posted back on 3/13 that I had both the fiber optic AND the software updated (even though I told them NOT to replace the cable, now I have a rattle) and since then I've had a static episode once. One of the two certainly helped but hasn't totally fixed the problem.
