Noise. Intake manifold?

Recently noticed a grinding noise when accelerating. Stopped by the dealer and went for a drive with the shop foreman.
Since the noise is recently always heard, it was easy for me to address the issue to the shop foreman on the drive.

He stated it may be a intake manifold causing the noise, but that is his speculation. He said it couldn't be any motor mounts or suspension because that's what I assumed that first. Car has 107k miles.

Have to wait until next week to have it looked at since there are no appointments. What do you all think it could be? I have a extended warranty so I hope this would be covered since it may involve the engine...

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

I had what sounded like a grinding noise, that turned out to be a rattling caused by worn mounts.

Could be a long shot but my sister had a grinding noise once and it turns out her entire exhaust system had been shifted an inch or two causing an unsettling grinding noise. It was probably because someone smashed into her rear exhaust tips or she backed it up hard into something lol..

I'm actually starting to feel a slight vibration at idle now... I think it may be a collapsed motor mount. I had them replaced a couple years ago though.

I have a collapsed mount right now. On take off there is a slight delay and you can feel a vibration at idle as you said. I did my own last year. About 50K miles ago.

Dealer states I need new Engine mounts AND a new Intake Manifold due to broken flaps inside, there was a code stored... Just waiting on extended now, not sure how they will take both issues. lol

Ouch. How much are they asking for repairs? Almost $2000?

Also keep in mind flex disc and center support bearings. I recently had collapsed motor mounts replaced and transmission and/or rear motor mount. Just a thought.

I think they included that as well... There was some other suspensions issues as well. Something about a torque strut bushing? And a Oil leak behind the engine( warranty said may not be covered since it involves emissions...?)
Just waiting on the inspector from the warranty to come check out all these issues.

Not sure about the whole repair but I only they quoted them $1100 for the intake.

THE C350
Is it that stupid plastic piece that failed? If you end up having to repair it on your dime this is a much cheaper route. I would shop around as the kit i linked to doesn't look as good as a few others i have seen that have metal arms too.

Not sure if it was only the plastic piece but dealer is replacing entire intake and the tranny mount.
