W211 hood closing buffer pads
My 2003 E320 is missing one of these plastic pads that the spring loaded hood closing rubber buffers presses on. I cannot find any online parts references to tell me this part number so I can order one! Does someone have detail parts breakdown/catalog pages with these parts?
I am missing the driver (left) side version of the one in the photo. The photo is the right side. Thank you for any help to save me from a frustrating drive to the dealership!
Passenger side hood buffer. What is the part number? And the left one too?

Unfortunately I cannot help with that, but you may want to address what looks like the grease and oil on the header panel in that picture.

BoardBoy,
The "grease" is a wax-like rustproofing that is sprayed on. A bit of a sloppy job to be putting it on that part of the car, but in Northern salt-heavy States and Provinces, such a treatment helps to keep the water and corroding salt from the undersides like doors & fenders etc.....
For those who might ask, I cannot gain access to the MBUSA Parts Catalog suggested in the "Stickies" as you need a credit card with a US address just to register (even though it is free).
I guess I might just have to visit the dealer, but no doubt I will be insisting they come out to look at the car, as they probably won't have a clue what I am talking about. Oh yeah, I'll take the phone along and show the photo!

We spray the underside of cars without pans, but I have never seen it sprayed in the bonnet area. Interesting.
There is a place locally to me called Potomac German Auto. If they have one in Rockville (Maryland location) and you pay for it and shipping, I would get it to you.
Honestly, I don't know if any other places to order those parts than the dealer.

Thanks for the offer. It's probably just simpler for me to take a trip to the dealer here. I was just hopeful somebody would find the part # and I could order it online from somewhere like ECS or Autohaus etc.

I had my car on the lift last night...the area where you circled, looks the same on my car. The buffer pad/spring is on the hood, not the support.

Yes, you are correct. The round spring-loaded pad is on the hood itself.
What I am missing is the flat, square-shaped piece that I circled (above). I need the equivalent circled piece for the LEFT (driver) side of my car. Here's the empty location below:
Driver side.

W211 hood closing buffer pads?
dhuddleson,
I believe the part you are looking for is 211 889 05 25
I had to replace one of these as well several months back and believe they came in a set of (2) and is listed as "Covering".

Thank you, it does look to be the right shape. Seems to be available through ECS, MBPartsWorld and others.
Oh, and they are less than $3 a piece, so maybe I will add them to my next MB or VW parts order.
