Joking aside, PM your emal address to me for a more cost effective method (Germany or USA, your choice).
The Panzerlied is a German song from WWII. Some of the text might fit. Here is an English translation

In blizzard or storm,
Or in sun warm and bright,
The day hot as hell
Or bone-chilling be the night,
Our faces may with dust be laid,
But spirits never fade,
No, never fade;
Relentless, our tank
Thunders out on a raid.

With engines a-howling,
Fast as is the wind,
We head for the foe,
Safe, as we're in armor skinned.
Our comrades still behind us roam;
We fight the foe alone,
Yes, fight alone.
We stab through the line
To break the foes backbone.

Whenever the foe
May appear in our sight,
We'll ram throttle full,
Then we'll humble all his might!
Of what use is our life if we
Our country serve freely?
Yes, serve freely!
To die for our country,
Our honour shall be.

With tank traps and mines,
Our foe tries to impede.
We laugh at his ruses;
We know he'll not suceed.
And when, in threat, his cannons stand,
Half hidden in the sand,
Yes, in the sand,
We can find our way
Over much safer land.

And should at long last,
Fickle Lady Luck leave,
And we remain here,
Leaving family to grieve,
A bullet with our name on it,
Find us and seal our fate,
Yes, seal our fate,
Our tank will our grave be
On that final date.

Just got off the phone MBUSA

Just got off the phone with MBUSA in NJ they said there will be NO ACTIVE CORNING /BENDING HEADLIGHTS in the US. This is what they are saying plus there will be no retrofit or refund down the line. “THEY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE ANY FEATURES ON ANY CAR“ .In other words you don’t get what you pay fore, and you better shut up. The woman I spoke to at MBUSA in NJ was Louise Grillo . It looks like a class action suit would be an inevitable outcome! There is no way I am going away, what about all of you?
Also is there someone out in the USA WHO HAS THIS FEATURE ON A MB AS OF TODAY JUST IN CASE SHE IS WRONG?

Class action lawsuit?????!!!!!???? Here's a hint, if you're not satisfied, DON'T BUY THE FREAKING CAR!!!!!!!!!! You guys are pathetic. MB isn't over charging or charging you for the active cornering lights. Its the same price as the Xenon upgrades. And its an option.

Should we people who ordered Xenons get a refund when the active cornering lights become available???? Yea, let's start a class action lawsuit for that too.

Hey, self-righteous

norb: When I purchase something I expect to get it, especially when they advertise this as one of the new & great features... Here is my hint, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I like to sell you cheep!

Also what about the people with 03 cars who did not get the NAVIGATION maybe they should have looked better at the back of the BROCHURE and shut up!

About the NAV, MB did right by its customers who PAID IN ADVANCE for the feature. The active headlights don't cost anymore than the regular lighting package. There is a difference.

Here's another hint, when you tell people to shut up, you've lost your arguement, since it was weak to start with.

Class action lawsuit????? You're not a lawyer are you?

Smile E500 Will Have Active Cornering Headlights

I reordered the 2004 E500 because the one delivered to the dealer in December, 2004 did not not have the Active Cornering feature.

I just spoke to Rhonda at Mercedes Customer Support (Tel. #800-FOR-MERCEDES, Ext 4606) and she assured me that the lighting package on my 2004 E500 to be built on February 10, 2004 will have the Active Cornering feature as long as the dealer order the Lighting Package Option #339.

I have decided that if the vehicle does not come through as ordered, I will buy a 2004 Lexus LS430.

I'm sorry Norb doesn't seem to understand the real issue for some of us. For me, I positively would not have ordered the Xenon lights if the cornering function wasn't available. If MB didn't intend to include the cornering function they should have notified their dealers. MB can take their disclaimer position if they want to but all that does is alienate more of us at a time when they should be trying to at least keep their existing customers.

I wasn’t telling you to shut up I was saying that maybe the no navigation people should have shut up and accepted the first responses they got from MB.
A little paranoid my friend but in line with your aggressive post! BTW, I am not a lawyer but you I think would make a good one.
This is my last response to any of your posts.
Hint: THANKS AND HAVE A NICE DAY!

There are two issues here:

One is that you don’t get what is promised in the brochure.
Another thing is the need of cornering headlights.

I will just comment on the second issue. I have the cornering headlight, and I do not rate it very high compared to my other options, and one that I can live without. It will be far down on the list. As you all know, I live in Norway, and on this time of the year, we only have a few hours of daylight. To have any effect, you have to drive on heavily bended roads in relative high speed. When I bring with me passengers that don’t know I have cornering headlights, nobody recognize it before I actually tell them.

Hi Guys,
Forgive my intruding, BUT life is too short to get angry, and I was a little disappointed to see how part of this thread is deteriorating (and I'm sure you aren't really getting angry)

I was let down by my local dealer, but Mercedes-Benz UK settled the issue in as fairer way as possible.

If you are not satisfied with your product then try writing a nice polite letter expressing your concerns. I do not believe in getting irate or rude (unless really necessary)

I wish you luck, and take note of what 'Oslo' has wrote in his very informative reply.

Good luck,
John

I will be using this car upstate New York in twisting rural roads at night with lots of deer. You seem to be saying this feature is not that great and is to subtle to be upset about. Do I understand you right.

Thanks!

Absurd. The lengths that people will go to find fault with the smallest things. Well maybe comical. IMHO.

You guys are so myopic that you can't see the rest of the car, you guys are still getting one heck of a car.

You read me right! Seeing a nice animated clip from Hella or MB is not like the real life. But be sure to get the Bi-Xenon. (We have deers to, but mostly mooses, and they are huge!)

Incorrect, it was simply MB USA who screwed up on the production at the MB factory in Germany. Other European and even Canadian 2004 E-class do have this option.

The active lights on the Canadian E55 seems far better than the one I test on a 2004 RX330. They seem more responsive at high speed.

NYMBC, I doubt it. I was just given loads of bad news about my car yesterday. Bad news #1 no active cornering lights, my dealer was too stupid to order it correctly, even after I pointed out to him it must have 339 lighting package.

Bad news #2, because of the weak dollar MB has just issued a price increase effective Feb. 2 on all MBUSA products. For me the increase will be another $900.

So, in essence, I'm getting less for more. Ain't that a kick in the A*ss.

I heard about the increase but I was told that it will be on all cars built after Feb 7. Good thing is when I pick up my car I will check to see if I have the active lights, if not I will complain about it and make them compensate me before I accept delivery of it. Thanks to all the people on the board. I will know what to look for before I take delivery of the vehicle.

E500 Black/Charcoal, Appearance and Premium Packages, Keyless Go and Remote Trunk Closer
If you have ordered the appearance package and expect to receive the active headlights.

Your option code for this should be 422.

The non-active headlights appearance packages were 322.

My car was built on 01-21-2004 and they have been confirmed on that build date for me.
