PARKTRONIC NOT WORKING!!

I helped a friend do the E63 conversion, front and rear. Obviously we took off the bumpers and disconnected the Parktronic system.

Now when everything was plugged back in, there's nothing. No red dot error, just NOTHING. The displays light up at the start but then there's no yellow dots, not in D or R. What's going on?

Did you swap the sensors from the old bumper?!

assuming you have done the obvious-you are asking questions that only a sds could elaborate for you...

Oh yes I get you now.

A question, if one sensor is bad, will those 4 red dots light up because that's what they're doing now, they're lighting up, they weren't before but now they are.

Also, if the front has one bad sensor but the back doesn't, will the rear work or do all 10 have to be working for the sensors to work, front and rear?

Will SDS tell which sensor(s) is/are bad out of the 10?

That sds will tell you almost everything about the system. Typically people that have these parktronic cars either love it or hate it. I can't say i'm exactly sure how to answer your question because as i stated, the sds knows more about it then i do at this point. Everything from me is just word of mouth.

If one sensor is bad or faulty i would presume it could cause the system to not function properly. But that is just my opinion. I trully don't know for certain.

If one sensor Is bad then the system will not work and all the red lines will be on. Front and rear work independently. And yes ads will tell you exactly which sensor is at fault. It will say right inner or right middle or right outer for example

Thank you

So if the rear has no faulty ones but the front does, all of them, front AND rear will light up red?

I think so yes. I have had mercs where one sensor fails and nothing works. But the best bet is star diagnose. Will show the fault instantly. Sometimes a sensor is damaged by something as small as a stone hitting the sensor at speed. They are very shock sensitive
