08 E350 Rear Differential HELP!!!!!
Help!!!! I recently purchased a 2008 Mercedes E350 4Matic Wagon, and already replaced the faulty wheel bearings. However, the rear differential is shot and is making a really loud humming noise while driving (148,000 miles), both on acceleration and then on deceleration. Is there a full rebuild kit that I can purchase for this issue, and if so, where? Also, would that be all that I need? Meaning the gears should be ok, just the bearings need replacement? I really appreciate all your help as I am anxious to resolve this problem ASAP. Also willing to go the route of replacing with a used rear diff, but would rather install a rebuild kit (the gear ratio reads 3;27 on the diff) Thank you very much!

Rebuilding differential is way past standard DIY, so what are your skills for the job?
MB differentials "don't break" so most of the time it is cheaper to get used one from junk yard.

Take it to a shop & price out 1. rebuild with diff in car 2. used diff + diff removal/install
My diff took a dump & I replaced with a low mileage CLS55 diff. Zero problems & about $1,200 later.
