W211 2009 wheel knocked back 1 1/4" in low impact collision

My wife hit a pole at 5 mph and it pushed the front left wheel back 1 1/4 inches. I took it to a frame shop and they said the caster was -3 degrees but the sub frame, bolts, and bushings were all fine. They can not find any damage at all. This is a reputable frame shop and they are stumped. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? The ESP is also inop. This car is an E350 with the sport package.

How deep was this pot hole? and was it really 5mph....

Has this shop ever worked on a Mercedes or similar suspension setup before?
Something is obviously bent and if they can't find it I would look around for a good indy to figure out what got damaged if it is really not the sub frame mounts.
Since that side has been though such a hard impact I would replace everything (which means doing the other side as well unless they have recently been done) and if the rear tire hit it I would have it checked as well.

it was a pole in the alleyway behind our house. She had just turned the corner and was traveling at approx 5 mph. This frame shop is an independent and has been in business for over 40 years. What should it cost me to replace everything on both sides?

A full Rebuild of both sides looks to be about $900 in Lemfoerder parts (OEM Supplier) and probably would be 4-5 hours in shop time plus alignment at the end.
That does not account for if the steering knuckle/spindle is what is causing the issue which it could be. Would also want to have the steering rack checked out as well as wheel bearings.

But until you know whats actually bent I wouldn't throw parts at it.

If you want to take a look check this out http://www.rmeuropean.com/Make/Merce...?catalogID=016

Also this is the steering knuckle if you don't know what it is http://www.rmeuropean.com/Products/2...G22-V4625.aspx
They silver part is what the wheel bearings ride on and it could possibly get bent in extreme cases.

Me personally, would take it to a Mb dealership and have a Veteran Mb alignment guy look at it. Reason i say this is because they would knowingly be able to point you in the right direction since they deal with these types of things on MB's all day. My guess would be a bent subframe honestly, not to discredit your frame shop, but if it isn't that then maybe thrust arms or spring link arms. Since you are in texas I'll assume you have a 2wd.

maybe your spindle is bent...
