E320cdi
I certainly don't want a V6 CDI. These 90 degree M-B V6's are inherently unbalanced while the straight six are the smoothest of all configurations (along with the V12).
That is wrong. The picture is of the straight six and so are the specs. The dealer apparently made up that ad from an incorrect piece floating around.
Besides that E320cdi US version already being built and first cars should be on the dealers lot (at least on the East coast) in the middle or late April (according to the info I just received from my dealer).
[B]Just recieved a newsletter from one of our local dealership (see pic below).
It is looks like 2005 E320cdi US version will be V6 ???
I will certainly be the first to apologise for doubting that you will get a 320CDI V6 in April 2004, if it actually arrives.
The advert states that they will be available in the USA in April 2004, so logic would surely dictate that it 'ought' to be available in Germany now!!!!!!
You would expect a Dealership to know what it is on about
(I say this because of the problems I am having with my dealer here in the UK)Good luck with getting your V6
John
They could not confirm V6 CDI engine (they only think that V6 cdi should arrive, but have neither confirmation on it, nor specs.)
RE: April delivery.
Both of the dealers confirmed that cars are built now as we speak and will be on the lot in the middle or last half of April.

Here is one "facT" I can relay. NO one... not a dealer, not a MBUSA rep, will know the pricing , engine configuration , or transmission until the first units hit VPC in NJ. I have been told that what my dealer told me cannot be confirmed.
It is "suspected" that it will be a 5 speed transmission because of the torque issues.
A friend of mine ran a quick search on EPA approval of engines which are required for all cars in the USA and found neither a new V6 Diesel nor an Inline 6 Diesel.
It wont be long till we know for sure.. but dang this is frustrating..
