M272 Intake Manifold Refurbish DIY

P2006?
P2187? P2189?
Other codes which I do not remember right now?

As it is well know by any long time m272 owner the manifold is built to Suzuki standards and after it has any problem the whole manifold is the only part sold by MB to the tune of $1,200 (Btw you can get the same manifold without the MB stamp for $600). The part has not been updated which is what really discouraged me from buying a new one.
Removal and install guides are already available so I'll skip that part.

Epoxy of choice for this was Loctite 1C

You can use a different epoxy but you need oil resistance and high temperature resistance, a slight flexibility after cure I think is also good for this application.

Note the right most fin is broken (I aligned it for the picture)

I also decided to reinforce the ones that were not broken

I did not remove the other sides (so I didn't have to re seal it) but also reinforced it just in case

Now remove old RTV and reseal

No official instructions but follow the obvious sealant path and remember to reseal the plastic to BOTH halves

Chosen sealant was Loctite 598 Black in pressurized 190ml presentation
No need to worry about fuel resistance since injectors are down stream of this gasket

Many different things break on this but most failures should be repairable and it is not particularly difficult to disassemble and re assemble the manifold. (~2hrs)
Do note that at this time I speak from 1 week/200 miles of this working and I will try to remember to report back if/when it breaks again.

Curious how this held up. I realize it's been seven years, but curious nonetheless.

Thanks for the update. I replaced a typical broken pivot linkage, but it's now throwing codes again. The values from the position sensors don't change, so it's either two bad sensors or the flaps broke once they were reconnected. I figure there's nothing to lose at this point cracking the manifold open to take a look. Appreciate you taking the effort to document your findings.
