Heated seat caught on fire, made a hole!!! Pic

Those cars don't have good wires.
I have seen 8 years old W211 harness for seat vents dropping down on the floor when the ends deteriorated.
That was on 2 cars of that age.
In the mean time wire harnesses on my father's 29 years old W124 stay bulletproof.

Looks to me the heating pad is #40 here
What you see inside that hole?

Good luck classifying it as a flaw.
Take all those bold tires with you

Jokes aside, find first what exactly is it.

I suggest contacting MB Canada for goodwill repair.
I've contacted them by email all they said was this:
Dear Mr. *****:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We are sorry to learn of the circumstances which prompted you to write.
We recommend contacting the service department at your local Mercedes-Benz dealership with regard to your inquiry, as they are in the best position to assist you.

Here is the email:
Dear Mr. ********:
Thank you for your response.
Please note that the manufacturer’s warranty is for the first 4 years from the in-service date of the vehicle or 80,000km (whichever occurs first). As such, the manufacturer’s warranty on your vehicle has expired.
However, we still recommend bringing the vehicle to the service department of your Mercedes-Benz dealership in order for them to diagnose the concern and review for possible assistance.
Sincerely,
*******
My response (After visiting the dealership and getting rejected):
So. You guys are saying its normal for an 9 year old car to burn someone? Can MB Canada do something. Because Mercedes of Mississauga is unwilling to do anything about it. The most ridiculous thing was when we went their, they told us to contact one of the service advisors to book an appointment by phone. But there right in front of us.
I understand it's 4 years 80,000. But there are several other people with the same exact issue. Here is another person

Car was 6 years old at the time.
I've contacted CTV and CBC news by email about it.
Please contact the dealership or anyone of them in the GTA.
Here's a 10 year old Volvo at the time. They covered it. They stood behind their product.

After that email and another business day, they told me to give them the vin number, and phone number.
They transferred me to Customer Relations Officer. ??
Re: 2007 E350

Dear Mr. *******:
We appreciate you taking the time to contact us regarding the concern with your E350. We regret any frustration the matter may have caused.
As the dealer is in the best position to inspect the vehicle, we have taken the liberty of forwarding the matter to the attention of the service management team at Mercedes-Benz Mississauga. We asked that they contact you by phone to arrange for the vehicle to be brought in. Once the vehicle is inspected, the dealer will be able to advise on how we can best assist you.
Thank you for taking the time to write.
Regards,
*******
Boom, they start taking responsibility for it. I think they got scared because of me contacting the news (which I actually did) they didn't want to get involved in that. While talking to them by phone and telling them that the dealer said no, see still proceeded to book an appointment.
Will be heading into the dealer the following thursday. We'll see what happens then. Wish me luck!

When you go to diesel section, you will find a topic about dealer-maintained Bluetec engine that seized just months after warranty expired.
Long story- MB send the owner restraining notice as they did not cover it.
The times when MB USA or Canada were doing goodwill repairs are over.
Now you don't even get free roadside assistance.

MBUSA changed the policy about 3 years ago. Now the assistance is free only to MB owners who repair the cars at dealership. I remember limit is only $100 a year, so some owners do small repairs at stealers just for that reason, but not too many services are within 100 range.

Slightly different in leather, whats a good leather cleaner?? and clean the stitching?
