Transmission Limp Mode 722.6 E320

My transmission went into limp mode so I bought a new Conductor Plate and Thirteen Pin Plug.
I changed out the parts and then since it was in limp mode I had the car in my driveway. I put a level on the roof of the car and jacked the car up until it was level. I ran the car for about a hour in idle going from Park to reverse to drive occasionally. I got the temp up and checked the fluid slowly adding fluid until it was reading correct. It say 4 to 4.5 litres and I have 5.5 litres. I am going to recheck again tomorrow. Another thing, being stuck in limp mode I called to see if I could get the code reset and was informed that it was more than resetting the code it had to be programmed and that the car should not be driven and should be towed to the shop. Ooops I have already drove the car around the block checking to see if it was going to work. So what are your thoughts??
Thanks
Mike

Fluid level and code reset

Ok so if I just replaced the conductor plate do I have to reprogram or do I just need to get code cleared.
Fluid level I have a IR gun so can I put the car on jacks useing a level and run it till I get to the 80 and check fluid is that ok. I bought a dip stick it is longer than the tube it goes into but I can feel it bottom out.

Do you have a cel on? no need to worry about vehicle being super level as temps fluctuate while vehicle is being driven. Anywho if u do not have cel on and it's still in limp mode it could be one of two things, dtcs may need to be erased and or your battery is weak... if voltage drops below a certain point it will send everything into limp mode.... make sure battery is good and also make sure your control unit isn't saturated in trans fluid!

did you install shift mechanism into valve body when re-installing?
Did your conductor plate kit come with updated drift?

I don't know about the updated drift. I do know the shifting mechanism is engaged, I double checked that. I will crank it and check the voltage. The car was in limp mode before I changed the conductor plate and the 13 pin plug. The code is P0715. I will recheck to see if the code has changed.

Just weeks ago I bought SL500 very cheap - mostly because 722.6 was in limp with the same P0715
I drove it 20 miles home on 2nd gear (car could make about 75 mph at redline).
At home I drop the transmission pan as at 192k the fluid was pretty dark. new pilot bushing, good plug washing, refill with about 4l of new ATF and later my friend erased the speed sensor code with his C4.
Car runs perfect and only after longer drive I added 1/2 l of ATF to come to top mark. Do you know the lower scale is for checking COLD ATF?
So don't fall for clown's spam. Get the code erased and take it for a spin.
I just bought $150 scanner that can clear such codes.

Yes I do know the lower scale is for cold. Is the scanner called a C4? I would buy one.
Thanks

C4 is Chinese multiplexer with cracked software. Not cheap.
I bought MaxiEcu from Poland and so far it seems to do 90% what SDS does, but has couple of glitches and I am promised tomorrow the Tech Support will come with fix I need for 7G.
Once I gain confidence in the scanner, I plan to organize group buy.
Can't beat $150 legal scanner that works with each computer and has legal Tech Support.

722.6 does not require programming but will need the codes cleared with a scanner that can do more than just OBDII.

If the car was bad enough that it went into limp mode, check your tranny computer as suggested above. It is likely filled with fluid. Dump out, clean out, and reinstall.

I did some checking and my scanner does support EGS52 modules found on lifted W210.
It will not support EGS51 TCM found on prelifted W210. Check topic about MaxiEcu.
I still think it is great scanner even if you have to pay $200 from UK ebay, but don't buy it just for older W210.
