bluetooth or aux?

Hello guys, my 06 E350 doesnt have any bluetooth or aux installed (no wire in glove box) :/ and i get pretty bored without music in my long commutes. n freakin radio plays the same songs over n over again -_-
I've seen a video to install a AUX cord by myself and also heard that AUX gives better quality than installing an aftermarket bluetooth? And AUX is cheaper in terms of parts and labor?
What do you guys think...if it's AUX cable, i might try doing it myself!

No Aux jack (that will accept an auxiliary cable) in the glove box? Maybe high up in the center of the back wall of the glove box? It's just a 1/8" socket, not a wire.

Or you could activate your Sirius radio. You get 2 free months when you sign up and then they usually offer some deal at $25 for 6 months. You just call to cancel after 6 months unless they give you the $25 deal again. I've been doing that for a couple years.

Well at least you can try it for free for 2 months. Also after a while I get tired of my ipod so it's just a nice change up. There's also the 6 cd changer, but I've never used mine, I don't even know if it works but I think it does.

What do you mean? That deal has been going on since 2012 at least. Here's the latest thread.

https://slickdeals.net/f/7489942-sir...eactivate-ymmv

I've got it down to 5 minutes on the phone. If you sound like a noob, they try to work the script to get you to sign up at $99 for a year and it can take 20 minutes on the phone, but I just tell them up front to give me the $25/6 month deal or I cancel, I know they can do it and don't waste time pretending to talk to a supervisor and doing it just one time for me. Then they agree with me and it takes another 4 minutes for them to go through their canned speech about the rest of the fees and terms.

The boys are coming for you is just a ol term like the police are coming to get you...It's not meant to harm, nor be hurtful in any way, shape, or form.
Like getting free cable knowing the bill is outstanding in a funny way. They did my wife the same way, she has a yearly subscription for 25.00
For one year ( they charged her acct w/o consent)
So they rewarded her for the one yr/25.00 package.
So in short yeap it works to our favor.

Ok that makes sense, but it's not really applicable as it's just a deal they run so they can pump up their subscriber numbers. You just have to know about it to get it. Nothing illegal about it, just like those one time promos various companies run, it's just that if you know how to ask, you can get it all the time. I really don't care if they don't give it to me, but they need every dollar they can get so they agree all the time, it's worth about $4 a month to me which is why I don't mind paying that much, not worth the regular price of $16 a month.

If you're careful and don't mind laying on your back under the passenger side dashboard for a while the cable can be completely hidden under stuff until it comes out at the ashtray.
Some disassembly required.

Just curious to know what did you plug in to the new aux cord - iPod or something else?

Is it working as you expected?

I use my android phone, S7 Edge. I use Griffins aux cord, had good quality. It doesn't give any disturbance like other cords when you put the music on blast.

It works great. It'll work with any device that has headphone jack. Anything.

OK thanks, I bought used iPod 5th generation since my car came with the 30 pin connector for it.

It seems to recharge through the same cable and so far it works great.

Music playback in the shuffle mode seems to work the best for me.

Thanks, I was not aware my W211 has a speed sensitive volume in it - at least I had not noticed it working!

According to Comand manual it does have it but I did not see instructions how to disable or adjust sensitivity.

Correction:

It looks like my car does not have speed sensitive volume, it appears to have so-called "Sound-system" which includes Automatic volume control.
It is supposed to adjust volume based on the interior ambient noise of the vehicle!

Cars without "Sound-system" have speed sensitive volume control, according to Comand manual for my 2008 E320.

Oh, i dont think i have the manual for my car, i bought it used and never bothered to look for it lol
Mine is 2006 E350 and if i go into settings i don't see anything related to that. But my friend has 09 model and he has a lot of features in settings ans such. So im thinking those features were added in later years and I'm stuck with it.

Now i regret why didn't i bought the 08-09 year, plus it looks lot better

I plan on using this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=A93FDKRO0XI5G

I have a spare ipod/aux cable if you need one.

The Bluetooth thing above simply plugs into the oem mb ipod/aux cable and should stream music via Bluetooth.

that looks nice. all the wires to be tucked in the glove box.
But i bought the aux cord. And i heard with Aux cord, it gives better sound quality than an aftermarket bluetooth setup?

I did wanted a bluetooth but that was a bit expensive so the cord was only like $15.

You should. I have the base model, don'tthink that matters, so all should have one aux jack or a cable deep in the glove box.

My aux jack was up in the ceiling of glove box, kinda hidden if your seeing with a straight vision. Go down n look up, it should be there. My phone won't let me upload a pic i took last time.

Or Google W211 aux cable inp ut, sk skim
