Crunching noise..

When I go over any kind of bumps, I'm hearing crunching noise coming from the front of the car. Anyone have a suggestion on what this might be and or where I should look?

Are you hearing the crunching noise at lows speeds?

Push down on the fender with the wheel turned in few different dirrections. If you hear a squeaky/crunchy noise it's probably the ball joint. I've replaced two of them. You can confirm if it is the ball joint by jacking up the wheel and checking for any play within the joint. You can use a small pry bar to do that. There shouldn't be any vertical play.

I have replaced both front lower ball joints as well as front lower control arms.....thought that would solve my issue. But I still have this crunching/croaking noise during low speed turns or going over bumps. So I'm thinking its the upper control arms

So one or more of the bushings on here are shot and making noise

I tried this yesterday and yes I hear a squeaking noise as well as a weird crunch on the left front. I've changed both the lower ball joint and front control (tension) arm recently, so unless one when bad, it shouldn't be that.

yes, at low speeds

What's the likelihood that it's the strut?

I have a noise that you could describe as a crunch but mine is very temperature sensitive. Once it warms up above 50 degrees outside, it stops making noise. Kinda confused...

I'm nearly certain there is a TSB explaining that the rubber mounts at the strut top need to be lubed to eliminate this type of noise. Can't find it - maybe Konigstiger will chime in.
