Odometer showing ------

My stealer battles continue, my car was recently at the dealer for 3 weeks while they diagnosed an ESP\ABS issue which they eventually resolved.

Got the car back now the odometer is flashing showing ------ my mileage\KM reading has gone.

Dealer claims the it came in with this issue and they will need to rescan with SDS to diagnose and could be failed instrument cluster which is complete BS!

The car did not have this problem until they worked on it.

Does anyone know how I can restore my original odometer reading?
Odometer blank?

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to fix it?

You need to run a scan on the instrument cluster and reading will return

That did not work, any other ideas?

Scanned the ICM no errors present.

SLOVED

MB tech has left instrument cluster warning buzzer deactivated in Xentry. Fix was to re enable warning buzzer and odometer reading returned.

Great you got it solved, but in truth buzzer should not affect that. I think there must been other coding options messed too, and when they re-coded KI unit, also odometer reading was solved.

Interestingly as a test when the buzzer was deactivated again within the SBC test the odometer went back to ------ very strange just happy to have my odometer reading back again.

See above for solution you'll need DAS\Xentry to fix this issue.

I just went through this with the E320 Wagon I bought last week. As stated above you'll need Xentry/DAS which is Mercedes diagnostics software to reset it. It took 30 seconds once in the Instrument Cluster section. Post your location and maybe someone nearby can help. I'm in S. NJ

Same thing happened to my 2004 wagon when I brought it to the stealership in hoffman estate for a SBC error, anyone here from Chicagoland that are willing to help and resolve this issue? I don't want to go back to that place and spend $175 for nothing.

This only fix is to hook it backup to Star and get them to exit the SBC module check correctly which they should have done anyway so why would they charge you, my stealership attempted to BS me that I needed a new instrument cluster to fix that was the last time I ever set foot in that stealership.

Because he asked for help today, and I responded. When someone doesn't search before posting, someone will say "try the search function". So when a person uses the "search" you respond with that^? It's still a valid thread so go back to reading current stuff.
