First post and let me tell you that this forum is GREAT! I am getting my E320 Sport in 2 weeks and so many of my questions have been answered out here...

As for the lights, would your friend be able to make the rear tailights look similar in design to the S Class? Also, would clear mean clear smoked or see through clear where you would actually see the bulb? Regardless, I would take a pair for forty dollars...

hi guys,

sorry, but i ended up not making any of these. It was hard to find someone who could manufacture these at a reasonable price. Also, although there is interest on this site, i dont think in general these would sell very well beyond the members on this site who are interested.

if i do decide to do this sometime later, i'll let you guys know. Thanks for the posts

Just pop out the orange bit, get some saran-wrap and duct tape it to the inside of the bumper. problem sovled. I'd use the heavy duty kind tho

some new hope

hi guys,

so i found someone who can help me make these clear sidemarker lights... still trying to determine if it's worth it to make these. so i'm going to get a quote from him and ill let you guys know.

i do need some help with this though. I'm out of town for at least another week, so i dont have access to my car. if anyone can get me a measurement of the light (length, width, and depth) and a closeup picture of the front and back of the sidemarker, that would really help speed things along. i could also hook you up with a nice discount (charge you what it cost to make) if we get these things made.

please email me if you can get the pictures and measurements: marsfire@gmail.com

also, since this depends on YOUR interest in these lights, if people are interested and havent replied yet, please do and let me know. thanks!

Ok, I tried to pop my sidelight out and it appears to more difficult than on the W210. There isn't any hole in the fenderwell to stick a screwdriver through. I tried one of the mercedes plastic wedges and got it partway out enough to see that it looks like the amber cover is stuck to the reflector. Stuck as in glued! Has anyone taken one all the way out? What is the technique?

when i swapped out my impact rails for the euro version, i seem to remember that you have to pop out the end that's closest to the front wheel, (it uses pressure clips so you have to use some force) it will pry away from the car up to the corner of the bumper, then the rest you gently slide sideways and it comes right off.

Then you'll have the whole impact strip in your hands and can pop out the amber reflector easily.
