OEM or 3rd party parts for front brakes?
When I got my 08 E350 4matic wagon, the used car dealer who sold it told me they had just put on Akebono pads and rotors, but there was a squeak when coming to a slow stop. They tried lubricating everything but they still had the squeak, even after putting a few hundred miles on the pads and rotors. eventually they gave up and put OEM pads and rotors on, and the squeak went away.
Have you all had a similar experience? should I stick to oem components for my upcoming brake job, and where is the best place to buy parts (pads and sensors, and possibly rotors if they can't be turned) these days?

I ran Akebono pads on my old W210 E55 and never had issues with them squeaking.
I usually use www.autohausaz.com for parts. I've always had good service from them and their prices are usually pretty good.

I just put the Akebono on my sedan with the stock rotors. I don't think Akebono makes rotors. They've been fine. Practically no brake dust, I don't even bother cleaning my wheels after going through a car wash. Had to do that all the time with the stock pads.

Personally, I have tried them alllll!
Brembo
ATE
etc
ATE slots look cool
Akebono pads are great and clean!
Brembo was garbage
Stoptech is not needed unless you track
Hawk is terrible!!!
My perfect match... Stock
only downside (super dirty pads)
But if I were to go aftermarket, I would get the stock rotors and akebono pads

I bought a complete pad/rotor kit from stoptech and the rotors are already warped (less than 10k miles on them). Ill be going OEM rotors and Akebono pads next time.

Will these work?
Also, I'm planning to change the pads myself. Anything I should look out for/be careful with? Will the above parts fit both front and rear?

You should probably be a bit more specific about what kind of car you have. We have no idea at this point. Brakes for the E500 might be different than the E350. I know on the E550, they had upgraded brakes over the E350. Also I used the 40% off code found on retailmenot at Advance Auto and got both front and rear seats for about $100 total. They don't have 40% off now, but they do have 30%. That listing doesn't even mention what pads you actually get. Amazon is horrible for parts, their cross referencing can't be trusted. I prefer rockauto or Advance Auto.
