Questions: Need Help
Hey guys, so I recently purchased a Beast because I always loved them. It has some minor issues and I just want to hear what you guys think and help me solve them. Been doing a lot of reading on here to get some knowledge on these cars.
Issue one:
can you guys tell me the correct name for the part in the blue circle.
Issue two: The odometer doesn't show the mileage just a bunch of lines while it is on, when you switch off the car it flashes and shows it then goes away. I was reading somewhere on this forum that a fix could be done by resetting the car. Any other ideas or is this one the best there?
Thanks in advance.

Put the year model of your car. Don't make people guess exactly what you have by saying "Beast", which I'm guessing is an E55.

The dashes in the mileage mean that the computer has found a discrepancy between the instrument cluster counter and the computer counter. It may mean that the instrument cluster has been replaced with one with different mileage. What was the mileage posted when you bought it? Did you see the mileage on the display, ever? I don't think it can be reset, as far as I know the only solution is to buy a new cluster and have it coded by the dealer or find a used cluster that hes exactly the same count as your engine.

I had this issue when the dealer hadn't exited Xentry correctly and left the ICM buzzer deactivated.
