Retrofit kits for sale: NTG 2.5--Media Interface--Distronic--Parktronic--Remote Start
The W211 has to be one of the last, great upgradable cars. You can add way more to this model than subsequent generations, and at a fraction of the cost. I bought my 2006 E500 for the long haul, and installed a ton of these upgrades for it. Then, I almost sold it due to a move, only to finally trade it in for a 2011 E350 that was just too good of a deal to pass up.
I took out all the upgrades beforehand, and I'm offering them here as upgrade kits. Feel free to PM me about combining multiple kits for a discount:
1. NTG 2.5 upgrade kit. SOLD
For cars that already have the Harmon Kardon option, this upgraded 2009 head unit is unlocked, fully functional, and will work as soon as it's hooked up to the retrofit harness and other parts of the kit. It's a pretty easy install, and worked flawlessly on my car. The only extra work you'll need to do is run power to the (optional) backup camera from the taillights, which I is simple enough that I had it done at a Geek Squad location. No reprogramming required, unless you plan to add SIRIUS or the Media Interface.
Includes: OEM head unit, subwoofer and amp; ComandOnline retrofit harness, bluetooth microphone and antenna, backup camera, FAKRA adapter, 2 MOST bypass adapters.
Needs: power cable for backup camera.
Price: All the parts on eBay would run you over $1,800 plus shipping (often from Europe). I'm selling this kit for $1,200 plus shipping.
2. Media Interface. SOLD
Never installed this one, so the head unit sold above would need to be programmed to recognize it. Thus, I'm selling the Media Interface separately. SOLD
3. Distronic retrofit kit. SOLD except grille (still for sale, for $90)
This is a great safety and convenience upgrade. The radar sensor was aligned at my local MB dealer and detected vehicles flawlessly. The collision warning is probably an even greater feature than the adaptive cruise! Mechanically, this is a plug-and-play install that should take an hour or less. You'll need access to Star Diagnostic or an independent/dealer to turn on Distronic for your car.
Includes: Radar sensor (no control module required), wiring and bracket; grille; shifter trim and switch.
Needs: Star Diagnostic to turn on Distronic (<0.5 labor hrs).
Price: looks like everything together on eBay would cost about $1,100 plus shipping. I'm selling the kit for $900 plus shipping.
4. Parktronic retrofit kit. SOLD except bumper inserts (still for sale, for $60)
I was excited to install this upgrade, but never got around to it. Almost everything required is included. I had to import a bunch of these parts from Germany, so you're saving a ton on shipping. I can provide installation instructions from WIS and translated German instructions.
Includes: all parking sensors and wiring harnesses; control module; front and rear displays; shifter buttons; pre-facelift left and right front bumper moldings; 4 parking sensor holders.
Needs: 6 more parking sensor holders; rear bumper molding; bracket to mount rear display; repaint sensors and bumper moldings to match; Star Diagnostic to turn on Parktronic.
Price: cost on eBay would be about $450 plus shipping. I'm selling for $350 plus shipping.
5. Mid City Engineering SKS211C Remote Start + Drone Mobile. SOLD
Quick install, completely plug-and-play. Bought for $599.

Probably worth noting that (according to Mid City Engineering's website) the remote start module is only compatible with 2010-2013 W211's. 2004-2009's use the SKS211C model.

Good point! I put down the model for my new car, rather than for the old W211. The correct model I'm selling is SKS211C. [original posting corrected]

The key thing is that you already have the original HK. You do need a new HK amp - two, in fact - but those come with the retrofit kit. The parts numbers for those are 2118703794 and 2118705189. When I installed these, I put them both where the original amp is installed, on the left side of the trunk.

Head unit
Does the head unit youre offering have the dvd changer built in? I also have the cd changet behind the secret door, is it utilized by the NGT2 head?

It does have the DVD changer built in. The hidden CD changer is no longer used and can be removed. I used that compartment for storage of the remote start and other items.

It's just the anti-glare coating coming off at the edges. Pretty common, and I ignored it so fast that I never followed the advice of the following thread on how to remove it:

I'm still interested except for the grille and shifter console trim.
Those don't work on my car.

My 211's steering wheel buttons synced perfectly with the new head unit from day one. It was completely plug-and-play.

All parts still available. Sorry to all who messaged in the interim - there were medical complications when my son was born in late September, and I've been preoccupied with family health matters since then.
I'm looking to get rid of these kits quickly now to pay for medical bills - all serious bids considered.

In response to some PMs, I'm happy to sell all three remaining kits (Distronic, NTG2.5, Parktronic) for $2,000 combined. That's the Parktronic kit thrown in for free, plus additional money off.
