170k miles G service 200 days over due

So I just picked up a 04 E class 4 matic and the dash is saying G service 200 days overdue. Now I have already done the brakes IE rotors and pads and also oil change and tune up. Any ideas what else needs to be done?

In my experience these service A-B-C-D-E-F-G messages are meaningless. I take my car to my indy shop, they hook up the scanner and tell me what it needs. At a minimum it's oil + filter then depending upon mileage and the fault codes it's other filters, fluid changes, etc.....

I have 185k miles on my 2006 e320 CDI and the cost of routine maintenance is not excessive IMHO. I have replaced the water pump 2 times, glowplugs once, brake reservoir, and one rear axle seal in the past 5 years.

The letters are equal to the supposed hours of service, 0-1 hours is an A service, 1-2 hours is a B service, etc. So a G service is a 7 hour service so that's probably very major.

Yes; however, I have never seen a succinct explanation in official MB documentation that explains what is supposed to be done. I also believe those hours are flat rates which is why everything costs more at a dealer.

If you look up your maintainence sheets, it should document what's due at this age/mileage, they go way out. If there's doubt, most services repeat at constant intervals.

The hours are what it pays according to MB labor rates, they set that and dealers follow it, not the other way around. If you have plugs, a trans service, and some other fluids due, it's easily 5-6 hours at book rate. Most services are actually discounted from the hourly rate, actual repairs are billed at higher $/HR than services normally.
