$57K! Damn... I must have got totally screwed... I paid $1200 over invoice ($58,808) a week ago (E500 w/Premium and Appearance). Oh well... love the car though, can't wait to get beyond the break-in period.

On a side note, I was surprised to get 27.8 mpg this past weekend on a 3hr freeway trip (mostly at speed limit). Guess the 7 Speed must be doing something right.

Anyway, congrats on your purchase.

I'm in CT and can't seem to get my dealer to do better that $500 over invoice. He quoted me $61,500 on an E500 4Matic with an MSRP of $64,875 and was equiped with lighting, heated, sunroof and entertainment. Should I be able to do better than this?? He was $943 with $2,300 drive off for 39mos with 15K miles.

Congrats on the car!! How do you like the color? I am assuming that you are taking about Granite Grey, right? BTW, where are you located?

For a car called granite grey, it has a lot of blue. Im sure they could've came up with a more appropriate name for the color. Other than the name, the color is beautiful. Ive gotten a lot of compliments on the color of the car already, and its only been 2 days of ownership. Granite grey makes my Sterling grey BMW look dirty when they are parked next to each other.

Im in LA county btw.

Granite is way lighter than Tectite. In other lighting conditions the car looks really light. Has a lot of blue. Kind of like a bluish gray or grayish blue...depends on how you look at it.

Granite Grey is closer to Platinum Blue than any other Mercedes color. If you saw it on a car parked in the sunlight you would be hard pressed to distinguish between Platinum Blue and Granite Grey. However, in different lighting conditions it changes hues and can even look like a dark shade of teal. Dealers now have the 8 x 10 inch paint samples but make sure you look at the sample both inside and outside in the sun. As you rotate the sample it catches the light and takes on different hues - especially where there is artificial lighting.

You are going to love the car...I remember you from your 540iT. I had one as well and posted a bit on the BMW board (540RCKT). I had mine tricked out and it would pretty much run circles around my E, but they are very different, and both very nice cars. Enjoy!

540RCKT... is it me or we have similar taste? Anyway, can't wait to get the E500 broken in. Id like to see what shes capable of.

BTW, did you sell the wagon with all those goodies? I should've bought my suspension and whatever you had under the hood off of you. From what I remember you had everything except for a S/C...
