Didja know that you can set up your cigarette lighter plug to either turn off with the ignition or to stay on all the time?
Plenty of easter eggs built into these cars if you go looking.

I think benzworld has very old thread "hidden gems" in W211 section. Even the big manual doesn't list them all, but that would be good start.

In California you can find REST useful in summer.
You set the climatronic low, tilt-open sunroof, press REST and for 20 minutes car will have breeze of fresh air, so if you come back in that time, you will not get your behind burned.

With a warmed up engine and the car off, windows closed, press REST and the climate control will circulate warm air to keep the cabin warm while you're running your errand.

I was using the REST for heat in California cold days, but found it questionable, unless you seat in the car and really need it.
Leaving REST on park car is cooling down the engine, so when you come back after 20 minutes, the cabin will be slightly warmer, but engine is going to be cold, so you will get cold breeze on restart.
I rather had warm engine that would make cabin comfortable in just seconds, than the couple degrees warmer cabin and cold engine.
Than for hot summer I really like remote start on my Ford, I can start the engine from 1/4 mile when I am leaving the mall and by the time I walk to the truck, the cabin is comfortable.
Sometimes too many options is not really good thing

There's a 1500W auxiliary electric heater built into the ductwork of my car. Doesn't matter how cold it is outside (and it gets down to 30 below at times) I can have warm air from the ducts inside of a minute of starting the cold engine. The aux heater can be disabled by pressing the AC button to turn the AC off (also turns off the compressor).
On another note, you know the little credit card drawer to the upper left of the glovebox? There's a convenient little hole in the bottom of the drawer, beneath the drawer liner. Comes in handy when you want to push the credit card up so you can reach it without fighting for it.

Thank you for waking me up. I was nodding-off thinking some new super feature was going to pop up and pop up it did!
On a similar subject, there is a 5" aluminum peg in the spare tool kit that you tread into one removed top wheel lug (screw) then remove the other 4 lower lug nuts. Then you can slide the wheel out on the aluminum peg without it dropping right off and pinching your fingers on the brake disk.
