2008 E350 Cranks, but won't start PZEV?
Hello,
Recently my car suddenly had a rough idle for a few seconds then died completely. Car now cranks, but wont start. I was told possible fuel issue... I'm now worried about the whole PZEV thing.
Anyone share a light on the PZEV thing and whether my car falls into it? Hoping the warranty in California will still cover it? I have 130k on the odo.
My data card shows (so im pretty sure im screwed)
915 FUEL TANK WITH LARGER CAPACITY
917 PZEV EMISSION USA
n case someone needs to check something else.

There's lots of components that are covered under Pzev, check the warranty booklet and see what the dealer says the problem is. They've been known to say it's not covered when it may be.

It's a 150K or 15 years for the parts listed in the warranty booklet. Your starting problem might be caused by some other component that is not listed in the booklet. There are many parts listed in the booklet so you may be covered or not.

Depending on dealership, sometimes, advisors will do a fuel leak smell W line to keep the customer happy. Not all dealers are nice. Even with a crank no start...... I've put numerous tanks/components in under warranty and the vehicle doesn't even run..... Customer satisfaction

Well of course fuel issues may not be the problem, but I just wanted to know, if indeed it was a problem with fuel components that a warranty still exists for my vehicle. Two independent shops told me fuel issues, along with my own quick test. But I'm still waiting to hear from dealer, should know by EOD.

update: was contacted by dealer, fuel tank, pump need replacement under pzev... i was hoping to get a loaner during the time of repair, but they said they were out of loaners for a week... whats the policy on that?

Usually they give you a loaner when it's covered under warranty. The way around it would have been to make an appointment when they had a loaner available. But unfortunately, it doesn't sound like you were in a situation to do that.

So I looked at the brochure I was provided that someone posted on here, and it showed "intake manifold" "tumble flap" all covered under the PZEV warranty section. My dealer said my tumble flap and intake is not covered. Any one have an answer to why the booklet mentions it, but they won't cover it?
