My grille is 5-blade which is Avantgarde (Sport). Don't get fooled by the dealer. Guys!!

Oh and by the way, I just wanted to let you guys know that in Europe/Asia, there is Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde (sport), in the US, it's the elegance model. You ordered the AMG package, it does not mean the sport/appearance package (grill with 5 louvres and other stuff like bird's eye maple wood and aluminum shift knob). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The car is speced out perfectly. If the dealership give you those parts they are being nice! The car does not have the appearance package so you should have the 4 blades and there should not be any LED tails. The normal trip looks so much better than the blacked out wood in my 2 W211's. I am not sure why MB thinks blacked out wood is superior to normal wood trim. Next car I order will have the standard wood trim for sure.
Dont be bashful! I like the back of that E500 more than my E55! 4 huge tips is excessive but that E500 looks PERFECT! I wanted this on my E500 but at 4800 I was not sure it was worht the extra money. You have proven me wrong!
GREAT LOOKING CAR!

I'm not seeing this with the AMG package.

Looking back the AMG pack is a nicer spec than the appearance package if you want to pay the extra money. I really like that car. Maybe this is all caused by the fact that I wish I had ordered Tectite Grey all along!

Although you could successfully spec a combo of appearance and AMG package, my dealer argued tooth and nail that MB would not build the combo. That really killed me because you clearly cannot get the AMG package with rear LED lights, 5 spoke grill, birds eye wood trim. Given this consideration, I'd rather do the appearance package. Quite frankly, my only BIG attraction for the AMG is the dual chrome exhaust. Plus getting the AMG staggered wheels ($3000 w/out tires) and tires sounds a lot more cost effective than buying the parts seperately. The dealer told me that retrofitting the dual exhaust alone would cost me roughly $1900 without labor.

2004 E500 AMG Sport and 2020 GLC300
Thanks for all the kind words guys!
The car is exactly what I wanted, and I have been waiting since November for it. I missed out on the Grey in '97, and almost missed it again this time since it is being dropped for '05.
There seems to be a lot of confusion about what exactly the AMG Sport package is. The US market 2003 models had a "Sport" option, which included white dials, different grille, different interior trim, different wheels, LED taillights, etc. In 2004, this package became the Appearance Package. The AMG Sport package is now the Sport package in the trim lineup. For my money, it is a much better offering. I prefer the interior and exterior of the AMG Sport to the 2003 Sport and the 2004 Appearance Package, and you could not begin to buy the parts separately for $4,800. Some like it, some don't. Taste is an individual thing, and I thank Mercedes-Benz for giving us a choice.
It is missing the little things talked about in other threads (lights under mirrors, ashtray pad, etc.) but I can't say those things were going to keep me from driving away with that beautiful car.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that the exhaust sounds the same as regular E500. But it still looks great. I beat myself up over waiting 6 mos for AMG pckg or getting appearance package. I do love the black birseye, but its only really visible in direct sunlight, where its beautiful. Sucks about the LEDs.. I'm sure a retro is po$$ible..
Dash is either way.. I kinda like the white guages.

Yes, I too would bet the AMG sport exhaust sounds no different from the stock E500.
However, my Brabus exhaust growls like a *****!

I like the way the brabus exh. sounds too -- however, I think it looks terrible with stock bumper. Looks like midget tips sticking out way too far. The chrome tip needs to extend back under the body to look more normal.. with brabus rear end, looks fine. This is why I have not put one on. Probably just going to do cheapo custom exhaust, with AMG tips..

Yes, it would look better with the Brabus bumper, but I'm trying to keep the mods to a minimum for now. I wasn't even planning on doing the Brabus exhaust. A fellow member here put his up for sale after only a few months of use, and it was at a price I just couldn't pass up.
My car is on a lease, so I'm only putting on mods that are easy to undo.
