Oil in turbo inlet. 2008 E320 Bluetec.

Was going to change my fuel filter today and discovered this. This is my first turbo diesel. Is this something I need to have addressed?

Nope. Crankcase ventilation pipe is the smaller orange end on the left and oil fumes from working engine are unavoidable.
Check your blowby at some time. Open the oil fill cap and put napkin over the hole. Idle engine and see if it stays, If it does, give it higher rpm.
Be careful with torquing the hose clamp on re-installation. Too much stress, the ends crack and this is like $600 butterfly pipe.

Thanks for the tips. I feel better about it now. I went ahead and cleaned up what I could see and got the fuel filter replaced. Going to to the oil next weekend.

Like was mentioned earlier, there is a Diesel section with more information.
