UK car insurance covers either the 'Third Party' or fully Comprehensive cover usually for the driver, named driver or any driver of a motor vehicle or vehicles on a public highway?? 
I suppose we would have to look to the owners of the car park (unless it was a public car park which hopefully would then come under the loose definition of a 'public highway', but we certainly could not claim on the guilty parties motor insurance.)
Does US motor vehicle insurance cover the innocent owner of the SL55? Or do they have to claim from the owner of the car park? Or try and claim from the person that caused the fire. There might be criminal charges against the person lighting the fire, but that does not compensate the owner of the SL.
The vehicle is obviously a write off and a very expensive write off at that.
