SBC pulsation damper
For those who had bulletin P-B-42.46/27 performed for SBC noise because of pressure buildup, is your suction line installed tension free and straight or did your tech not cut off the required portion and simply push it back to fit in the pulsation damper and as such cause a bend in the line?

Trying to see if any short cuts were taken in applying this repair. I know of several instances locally. Plenty of members had the damper installed, all it takes is a quick look under the hood.

I just had this done. Can you post a pic and I will tell you if this is what mine looks like.. Do you have the full details of the TSB, can you post it or the PDF.

SBC pulsation
My dealer said the pulsation is the characteristic of SBC. He said for 04 model there is no TSB to apply. MB would not pay for this service. If you have a 03 model, the TSB will be applied.
He said MB may or may not come out with a TSB but he would contact me ASAP if there is one.

Mine is in for service now, and I don't know the status yet as to whether they are able to fix the problem in my 04, but it definately exists. My friend has an 03, and it sounds and feels almost exactly the same. I do have an early build 04 though, so maybe the Star bulletin still applies.

I took my car to two different dealers, both refused to apply the TSB saying that they are not authorized to install it on 04 model.
Even if they do it, they will not get reimbursed by MB for their cost.
Both techinicians said the groaning and vibrations are within normal operation range.

You can keep complain to the "head" of service. But... the problem simple hard to cure..... I did see people getting improve by cutting down the noise, but still there.....

I have a 04 and had this applied at no cost (I am in Canada). Is there a problem getting this applied to a 04? Did it even really need it?
konigstiger I am going to take a pic and post it here..

Dealer replaced SBC hose in question (original post to ths thread) from hydraulic unit to reservoir with updated "braided" line. Also performed free SBC inspection as per alleged recall.
