Help!!! in the middle of 2008 E350 rotor / brake pad replacement
I am attempting to replace the front brake pads and rotors on my wife's 2008 E350. I removed the two 18 torx bolts on the inside of the calipers - thinking that would release the assembly. It didn't.
I then went to knock out the push pins (to enable me to remove the pads) and possible expose some bolts I had missed. When I pushed on the pins, it did loosen that side (hard to describe) and brake fluid started dripping on the floor.
Either there is a seal that I loosened (or tore) or something else happened.
Question 1) How does one remove the caliper assemble to allow the rotors to be removed.
Question 2) Did I screw something up (leaking fluid can't be good) or will that take care of itself when the inner caliper bolts are tightened back up?
Thanks in advance

You aren't supposed to unbolt the caliper halves. You probably need a new caliper.
The caliper comes off with two bolts from the inside, down on the knuckle.

I realized my mistake after the post. I have the two bolts by the knuckle off and the rotor off.
I can't believe I need a new caliper. Is there seal / gasket kit and / or can I just retighten the caliper bolts?

Having never opened one personally and because the brakes are such a safety critical thing, I'd suggest replacement only. If you put it back together and for some reason it fails later on, the results could be very, very bad.
A good used caliper on Ebay would be safer than re-bolting yours, or take it apart, clean it thoroughly, see what the surface looks like (if it has a gasket/seal or some sort of sealant), and see if you can reassemble it correctly.

I don't think that they're even that expensive, there's lots of options on rockauto.com.
